All members of the school community are encouraged to develop their potential and special qualities in an environment centred on Christ.
Core Values
As a community centred on the example of Christ, the following core values (CARE) underpin our approach.
Community
We value every member of our school community and we are committed to working together to reach our shared goals through mutual support, encouragement, and celebration of our Catholic faith.
Achievement
We are committed to learning at every level to achieve our personal best.
Respect
We have personal and collective responsibility to each other and to the school’s success.
Excellence
We promote excellence in all that we do.
Prayer
Dear Lord,
Help me to change my heart. Bring me to your truth and help me to respond to your generous love. Let me recognise the fullness of your love which will fill my life.
Amen
From Mr Will
Welcome to the first edition of Spirit News! I hope you took the long weekend to refresh and relax after a very busy start to the term. We relaxed with plenty of family time, which was so great. I was just saying the other day that we are coming into a purple patch in Perth where the weather is just magnificent, I don’t think you can get a better time of year, it starts to cool off slightly but we still have such amazing blue sky days.
Project Compassion
As you know we are in the season of Lent, this is a time where we try to impact our world in positive ways. It is also the time that Caritas’ Australia run the Project Compassion appeal. For more information about this appeal, please click the link: www.caritas.org.au/project-compassion .
Our Year 6 students are leading a Project Compassion initiative with a whole school free dress day this Friday March 10, for a gold coin donation.
They will also be holding a bake sale at morning tea time, they will be selling cupcakes, cookies and other small baked goods. Prices will range from 50 cents to $1. So please send in some spare change to help donate. Icey Poles will also be available on Friday. It is a special day indeed!
Kiss and Drive
Pick up around schools is always a busy time, our Kiss and Drive functions really well and generally speaking we have all our children in cars in around 10 minutes. Please remember the following points for the safety of all community members:
· Kiss and Drive is not available for parking from 2:30pm.
· Do not U-turn at the Skipton Rd entrance closest to the school to enter the Kiss and Drive. Please enter via the Skipton Rd entrance at the furthest end of the school or alternatively via Keaney Place.
· If you dont have a family sign, so your family’s car is easily identifiable, please contact the front office to arrange one.
P&F Footy Tipping
Rarely do you enter a competition where you are playing for 2nd place, but unfortunately the Holy Spirit P&F Footy Tipping is a great example of this! 😂 Just joking….
Under the steady hand of Anton Avila, Dad to Eamon in Year 4, the P&F are running AFL Footy Tipping this year, through ESPN FootyTips. The more people we have involved in this competition, the greater the prize money (and banter), so tell your friends and family and sign up with the QR code sent via SMS or below in this edition of the newsletter.
Until next time,
Ben

Project Compassion
This week, the season of Lent begins with Ash Wednesday, which also marks the beginning of the annual Caritas Australia Project Compassion Appeal.
The theme of Project Compassion 2023 is ‘For All Future Generations’ and reminds us that the good we do today extends to impact the lives of generations to come.
By donating to Project Compassion, Caritas Australia, the Catholic Agency for International Aid and Development, can work with local communities around the world to end poverty, promote justice and uphold dignity.
Each family will receive a Project Compassion box today, coming home with the eldest child or you can donate online via the Caritas Australia website at: www.caritas.org.au/project-compassion
