Calling all artists!
Ms. Shannon is looking for a few or more students to paint on the school’s native seed library! An MEA parent, Graie Donnenworth, expertly crafted the library in the Spring, and we are looking forward to stocking it with seeds, pamphlets and brochures with the generosity of the San Diego Audubon Society Native Seed Library Team.
The school should have enough paint to make this happen. Please see the image of the library and some inspiration for plants and flowers to adorn it. Email or find Ms. Shannon on campus if you are interested—you will receive several hours of service learning credit for this!
Breakfast and Lunch Services
Food services are supplied by SDUSD, at no costs to families. Students can pick up breakfast and lunch meals from the Front Office every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Breakfast is made available at 7:45, while lunch is made available at 8:15. The meals are available to the students until 3:15, while supplies last. No registration is required.
Students are reminded to sanitize/wash their hands before collecting their food and to sign for the meals they receive.

International Dot Day
International Dot Day is celebrated by adults and children for boosting courage so that their creative potential is released. It is a great day to connect and collaborate, and also to celebrate self-expression. In honor of this day, our school is handing out "dots" for EVERYONE in the school to decorate. With crayon, paint, pastel, whatever makes you happy. Fill your dot with color, put your name on the back, and return to school by October 13th (the end of month 2). All dots will be included in a school display.
For more information check out Dot Day
Malala Fund
In our 8th-grade humanities classes, we're engrossed in 'I Am Malala' and gaining profound insights into diverse cultures and customs. It's become evident that countless girls around the world are denied access to a robust education. To address this, we're launching a fundraiser for the Malala Fund, with the aim of generating resources to offer a transformative educational experience to those less privileged than ourselves. We have another donor who has committed to matching the first $100 given. The donation drive will be running until October 15th.
