It’s difficult to believe we are into December and a full week into the Second Trimester! The Capturing Kids’ Hearts' Leadworthy Character Trait is “Respect”.

Respect means to give honor to ourselves and others. I love that we are included in this definition. Since December is often characterized as a month of giving to others, I wonder if we adults can share with the younger generation about times when we felt especially respected or times when we were dealing with a difficult situation and had to work hard to show others respect? I know I look at it as a gift when I learn new strategies for handling difficult situations. Maybe sharing some of these experiences will help in a small way.

It’s been great to be back and we’re looking forward to these three weeks before our next holiday break!

Top 5 Things to Know

Winter NWEA Testing

All 9th through 11th-grade students will be NWEA testing December 4 - 8. . Students will report to their first-hour classes for testing, and regular classes will begin at 9:15 AM.

AM Tech Center Students will report to the media center at 7:45 AM on Monday, December 4, for testing. For the rest of the week, Tech Center Students will follow a delayed-start schedule.

Seniors do not need to report for testing but should plan on being at school for their first-period class at 9:15 AM.

After-School Support

Bulldog Success

We will again be offering an after-school academic support program for students starting December 11th. It will run for an hour each day, Monday through Thursday, and the goal is to help students pass their classes. We will have teachers there to supervise and help. Students interested should commit to attending two days a week (either Monday and Wednesday or Tuesday and Thursday) for the entire trimester. This is not a "drop-in anytime" program. Students who join and succeed will be able to pick up an extra half credit. Seats are limited. Use the link below to sign up.
