This is a competition among 3rd hour classes. Each item donated is worth 1 point. There will be one MCHS winning class and one MCMS winning class.
DAR Good Citizen Nominee
Merrill Hoski was nominated from the senior class to represent MCHS as the DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution) Citizen. Merrill demonstrates all the qualities for the DAR award: dependability, service, leadership, and patriotism. Congratulations to Merrill!
Physics Classes Compete in Pumpkin Chuckin'
The project was completed by both the Advanced Physics and Regular Physics classes. The actual name of the project is Pumpkin Chunkin. The students picked groups and worked at home to create a catapult or trebuchet that would launch a pumpkin. The objective of this project was to test Motion in Two Directions. This year's winner launched a pumpkin 137'5" which is now the Marine City High School record. That team consisted of Josh Ashman and Bryan Satterly as well as Josh's family. Second place went to Melinda Dietlin and Keira Provost who launched their pumpkin 108'10". It was a cold, wet day but many of the students had a great time watching their creations work. A special thanks goes out to all the parents that helped in the building and transporting of the devices.
Congratulations Aspen and Allison
In August 2023, College Board awarded students from across the country with academic honors through our annual National Recognition Programs, available to students on BigFuture. The programs celebrate underrepresented students who excel academically on College Board assessments, including PSAT/NMSQT®, PSAT™ 10, and AP® exams.
Aspen Mittler and Allison Kuzera earned academic honors from the College Board's National Hispanic Recognition Program. These programs celebrate students' hard work in high school and showcase their strong academic performance. The academic honors are an opportunity for students to share their strong academic achievements with colleges and scholarship programs that are seeking to recruit diverse talent.
Business Classes
MCHS Business classes took a "Run to the River" for a social media marketing unit to help promote Coach Ron Glodich's new book. Ms. Gardner would like to thank everyone who helped to make this possible, especially the students, Coach Scheel for joining them since he was the inspiration for the title of the book, and Scott Whiting for filming the event. Thank you to Rob and Kristy Gardiner for rushing the shirt order. The students exceeded expectations for this project. Stay tuned for the professional video. Way to go Mariners!

New Main Office Area
We just wanted to let everyone know that the office staff and counselors (both MCMS and MCHS) have moved into the new office area located off of the Ward St. loop. If you need to come into the office or a student is being picked up or dropped off not at the beginning or end of the day, you will need to use the new front entrance door off of the Ward St. loop. There is guest parking available, as well as the loop available for a quick drop off/pick up. Please note that the same policy of being buzzed into the building will continue. The Ward St. loop is not for normal drop off/pick up, that should still be happening in the drop off zone in the student parking lot before and after school. This loop is intended to be used once the doors are locked down once school starts. We appreciate your patience as we make the transition.
Pick Up Area in Student Parking Lot Information
Parents and Guardians who pick up students after school, please be aware that the entrance way to the parking lot is being blocked by people double parking in this area. Please, do not park in the entrance way, but move further south into the parking lot where there are parking spots available.
Thank you.
MC Mariner Marching Band performed at MSBOA and Earned a Division 1 Rating!
