A Message From The Principal
Dear CKS Families,
How fortunate we are to live in a state where we can enjoy beautiful foliage week after week! The month will end with the students’ colorful, beautiful, scary, and clever costumes. Remember that our youngest students might not enjoy scary, gruesome costumes. We also ask that costumes be “appropriate” for the school environment. The faculty and staff have planned their costumes together, but we might also see a few witches flying around. Let’s have a great day.
November 2nd is All Saints’ Day, a holy day of obligation. Students will attend the
morning Mass. If your child is named after a saint, it might be fun to learn
a bit about the saint. Hard to believe, but there is actually a saint, Odile! Imagine
that!

Christ the King School Open House November 2nd at 8:45 AM
Christ the King School in Burlington, a Catholic school serving learners of all faiths from 3 years old through 8th grade, will host an in-person Open House on Wednesday, November 2nd, starting at 8:45 AM. Join us to meet our school leadership, teachers, and discover what makes CKS such a special place. Registration is required and can be found on the event page below.
At CKS we encourage our students to discover and develop their God-given gifts and to become people of character with a love for learning and a zest for life. Our comprehensive curriculum focuses on the development of the whole child; body, mind, and spirit. If you have a 2, 3, or 4-year-old (and especially those looking for a Kindergarten placement for next year), now is the time to explore if a school-based program is a right fit for your family. RSVP at http://www.cksvt.org/open-house or by contacting admissions@cksvt.org or calling 862-6696. Find us online at http://www.cksvt.org or on Facebook and Instagram by searching for CKSVT.

CKS MIDDLE SCHOOL SOCCER
The girls finished their soccer season last week with a strong and muddy last game against Hinesburg. Grace Marcella was the star scorer for the team over the season. The girls had a strong defense, and they improved with every game. Overall they had fun representing CKS together while they strengthened friendships and practiced leadership. A big thanks go out to Coach John VanDijk for his willingness to coach and all those who pitched in to help, especially the Rice Varsity Soccer girls, Becky Penney and Finley Strong. Thanks to Alison Redlich for providing all the snacks and the photos. Nice work, girls!
Back from the Dead: The dead would like to speak with you!
Back from the Dead: Take a walk at night through the Resurrection Park Cemetery. As a guide leads you through the dark by candlelight, saints and martyrs come to life to tell you about “Last Things”: death, judgment, heaven, and hell. Hear from the dead who describe the tortures they endured for the sake of Christ. St. Teresa of Avila will share her visions of hell with you. Through these encounters with saints and martyrs, you’ll discover what it means to be truly alive, both now and in the life to come.
Join us on Saturday, October 29 at 6:45 p.m. at St. John Vianney Parish Center in South Burlington.
