Comments from current KHP graduate students:
"So far, the experiences that I have had during the master program have helped me to become a well-rounded educator. I have had the ability to discuss best practices as well as interact with students and teachers from Japan and Greece. Additionally, I have the confidence to conduct research in my classroom in order to increase the overall level of instruction for each of my students." (Andrew Hirsch, K-5th grade Elementary Physical Education teacher at Springfield Elementary School, MN)
"The masters program has been really interesting so far! I've especially appreciated how flexible professors have been with allowing me to adapt my classwork towards coaching. It has given me the opportunity to focus on concepts and ideas that are meaningful and rewarding for my specific needs as a baseball coach here on campus." (Calan Fougner, Assistant Baseball Coach at VCSU)
"The physical education graduate concentration program at Valley City State University has been a great experience! I have enjoyed growing in my career through learning new ways to implement the newest information. I love the small class sizes and the personal connections I have made with all my professors in the program." (Mindy Niebuhr, Physical Education Specialist, Bismarck Public Schools)

KHP Alumni Highlight - Chris Holden (Class of 2015) -
- What are you doing now?
"I recently started a new position as a Strength and Conditioning Coach working with Army soldiers. My role here is to better prepare soldiers for situations they may encounter within the field by increasing strength, resiliency and improving movement patterns".
- What is your favorite memory at KHP?
"When I reflect on my time within the KHP program, what stays in my mind the most is the level of support professors had for us as students. Sarah, Diane, and Rachelle wanted me to succeed in life instead of just the classroom. It has been nearly seven years since I graduated, but I still feel connected to the professors and the department".
- What is your advice to current student at KHP?
"My advice to current students is to involve yourself in as much as possible. Raise your hand, ask questions, volunteer your time, be present, don’t be afraid to be wrong. You’re surrounded by people that want to help you reach your potential. So many doors will open just by involving yourself as much as you can".
