EDCOE Team Member Spotlight - Lisa Boyle
Briefly describe your background (where you grew up, family, why you came to work for EDCOE).
I grew up in El Dorado County on a ranch in Fair Play where we had crops, livestock, and horses. After graduating from El Dorado High School, I left for college where I received my teaching credential and met my husband of forty years. We have two children and three grandchildren. I came to work for EDCOE after being invited to observe the campus and get to know the students, staff, and the type of educational support available to the students. I was hooked! Read more...
Nancy Lawrence Receives Prestigious County Award
Nancy Lawrence, a Manager in Business Services for the El Dorado County Office of Education (EDCOE), received the coveted Excellence in Education Award during EDCOE’s recent Team Member Recognition Event on Zoom. After receiving the award, Nancy expressed, “I am so honored and humbled to receive the Excellence in Education award. It is easy to strive towards excellence here at EDCOE because I am surrounded by employees and leaders who exhibit excellence while performing their everyday duties. All I have to do is observe, learn and apply the same excellence to my area of expertise. Working at EDCOE for the past twenty-seven plus years has not been “just a job" for me - it has been a journey of personal and professional growth and an opportunity to interact with special people of the same mindset – those people who truly care about our mission to serve the children and parents in El Dorado County and statewide through our Rite of Passage and SELPA programs.”
Dr. Ed Manansala, El Dorado County Superintendent of Schools, awarded the honor to Nancy and commented, “Nancy continues to go above and beyond the call of duty. She is reliable and resilient. Thank you for your service.” Read more...
EDCOE Team Member Spotlight - Kerri Delonchamp
Briefly describe your background (where you grew up, family, why you came to work for EDCOE).
I was born in Carmel, California, which not many can claim. But, I am able to say that, because when my dad drove my mom past a Quonset Hut that served as Fort Ord’s Hospital she announced, “just keep on driving, there is no way I am having my baby there.” They pinched their pennies and saved their change, and I was born in a small hospital in Carmel. I grew up in “the Bay,” specifically Concord, California. For college, I attended California State University Chico and University of Massachusetts. Upon completion of my Masters’ degree, EDCOE called me. It wasn’t because they had heard how special I am, but because they were calling all newly graduated speech pathologists in hopes of finding one willing to come and work their Extended School Year. Being a broke newlywed, I was quick to reply, “of course I will come… where is El Dorado County?” Read more...
