1. The 2024-25 scheduling process has begun! Counselors are meeting going into classrooms this week to discuss the process. From February 12-29, students will be meeting with their counselor to finalize their requests. They will then have until March 8 to make any final changes to their requests.
2. CCPS is providing juniors an opportunity to watch a film screening followed up with a live Question & Answer with Emma Benoit on Thursday, February 8, from 9:30-11:30 am. The documentary is entitled "My Ascension." This presentation contains sensitive subject matter related to adolescent suicide. Students who would like to attend MUST have their parent/guardian sign and return the opt-in/permission form by Friday, February 2.
3. Car Riders: If you are dropping your student off at school each morning, please try to arrive 10-15 minutes earlier. We have 200 additional students which bring increased traffic. This is compounded by the construction on Magnolia Pond. We strongly encourage all students who are assigned a bus to utilize this option.
4. Weekly phone, email, and text dialers for students who have a D or F in one or more classes are sent out each Tuesday. Make a plan to sit with your student once a week to review grades and assignments in the Focus. You can access it through the CCPS Parent Portal or have the student access it through Canvas. Have your student come up with a plan to improve grades. Communicate with the teacher if you have questions about your student's grades or assignments.
5. Important Dates:
- January 31 - GGHS Boys' Soccer District Championship Game vs. Lely; 7:00 PM at GGHS. Come see our Titans try for their 4th District Championship in a row!!
- February 2 - GGHS Girls' Basketball - SENIOR NIGHT; Game begins at 7:00 but join us at 6:30 PM for the Senior Night ceremony
- February 14 - Early Release Day
- February 19 - No School - Presidents' Day
- February 26 - SAC Meeting; 5:30 PM
