April 2023
Hello Hurricane Family,
Happy Spring! On behalf of the Klein Cain faculty and staff, I would like to thank everyone for your continued support for our Hurricanes! We have been very busy since we have returned to campus this semester! There is so much to look forward to as we embark on this end of the year adventure!
There is A LOT of information in this issue of Hurricane Happenings, so please make sure to take your time and review all of the information that has been included. We have information about upcoming events, district news and announcements, campus celebrations and much, much more!!
The arrival of spring also signals the arrival of testing! Whether it is EOC/STAAR, AP Testing, TELPAS, or ACT/SAT, most students will take a very important test on a variety of days. Information, such as testing dates and times, will be posted on our website and via Facebook and Twitter, so be sure to follow us on social media!
Finally, as stated above, our students are active and involved in so many clubs/organizations and team representing our campus in competitions, meets, games and contests! We would love to see you out and about cheering on our Hurricanes!
We hope everyone has a fantastic upcoming 4 day weekend!
Reign Cain,
Nicole Patin
Klein Cain High School Principal
Celebrations!
Congrats to Alicia Clines for winning a National Silver Scholastic Art Award!
Klein Cain Student - Jennifer Miranda to show at Frida Festival
This month is the Annual Frida festival hosted by MECA and Ms. Vazzino urged some of our students to enter. She was so thrilled to have 4 of our students included. The curator of the show, artist Lizbeth Ortiz, was so impressed with Jennifer's art piece and the backstory, that she invited her to present it to the board last Saturday in downtown Houston. Jennifer was very nervous to share her personal story behind her piece, "Unspoken Love" to a room full of business owners, artists and other professionals....but she did an amazing job and said half the room was crying by the end of her speech. If interested in attending the Frida show, the information is below.
The opening reception is Saturday, April 8th, 6-9 pm. At MECA at TBH, 333 S. Jensen Drive. Please note that this is the East End campus, formerly known as simply TBH.
