Principal's Message
Hello Springwater Students and Families,
Can you believe we have already arrived at our first grading period? Progress report grades are available in Synergy ParentVue/StudentVue! Please review them with your student and reach out to your student's teachers if you have questions or concerns. If you are having trouble logging into ParentVue, please reach out to the office at 503.261.4600 and they will help you.
We had our first leadership/9th grade meeting last week during lunch. The activities provided 9th graders an opportunity to meet the mentoring team, get to know their 9th grade classmates a little better, and -- most importantly -- have some fun! We will be scheduling more of these activities in the future.
We have received our first 7 proposals for student clubs! They will begin rolling out the week of October 19th. More details about these clubs will be in the weekly announcements. All clubs will meet virtually during lunchtime.
It is never too late to start your own club! You can find a link to the Club Proposal form in the STHS Announcements Google Classroom or reach out to Koryna Herreid by email: herreid@gresham.k12.or.us
Please don't hesitate to reach out to us with questions, ideas, etc.
Stay safe and take care,
Ryan Blaszak

Distance Learning Strategies
- Post a schedule of your classes close to your computer
- Set reminders for your classes on your phone / chromebook
- Find a quiet place to participate in Google Classroom meetings. (We understand this can be extremely challenging when everyone is stuck at home!)
- Work with family members to minimize disruptions during live class sessions.
- Remember engagement and communication are more critical than ever during distance learning. Communication is about human connection, understanding, and community: all of which are priorities for us and part of the reason you chose to attend Springwater!
- It can take time to become comfortable turning your camera on and there are other ways to show you are engaged. Below are some ways to communicate and engage during live class sessions:
-------> * Use your microphone to ask and answer questions.
-------> * Use the chat feature to ask questions and get clarification.
-------> * Let your teacher know (through the chat) if you have to step away from your computer for a moment.
