Parent Presentations- IUSD, in collaboration with OCDE, will be providing zoom presentations throughout the spring. They will cover topics and challenges that students and families face in relation to school-based mental health. Join us in the discussion! The details for the fourth workshop of the series are below along with the registration link.

National History Day Finals- IVA 8th grader Frankie Holland was named Champion and her Individual Website entry, A Breath of Fresh Air: How California Became the Birthplace of Frontiers in Clean Air, was selected to compete at Nationals in Maryland this summer. Frankie is only one of two students selected to represent all of California in the Junior Division Individual Website category. This is Frankie’s second time as an NHD-CA Champion. In addition to receiving her Champion medal this year, Frankie also won one of NHD-CA’s special awards, the Environmental History Award. This award honors a junior or senior entry that demonstrates an outstanding study and discussion of the history of deconstruction or conservation of the natural environment. Way to go Frankie and good luck in the national competition in June!
23-24 Planner Design Contest- San Joaquin (IVA) and Creekside will be providing planners to full time students for the 23-24 school year. We need your help to design the cover! Your planner design can be hand drawn or digital but it must be an original design. The required size is 7 inches wide by 9 inches tall and it must include the school year (23-24 or 2023-2024). You can email your design to KyleneCarter@iusd.org or drop off at the Creekside Education Center Administrative Office (3387 Barranca Parkway). Here is a template for size. Designs are due May 5th.
IPSF PATS- Let’s honor our amazing teachers and school staff! What: The Farm and Food Lab will be providing opportunities to plant seedlings and learn about sustainable farming. Join us for this hand-on activity while earning community service hours!

CAASP Testing Monday's at 8:30am- Each spring, students in grades 3-8 and 11 participate in the California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP) to provide information about their skills in English-language arts/literacy (ELA), mathematics, and science. Student's will be testing over several Monday's. Please click HERE for the most recent updates.
Summer College Program- Irvine Valley College and IUSD are excited to provide the IVC/IUSD Summer College program for summer 2023 at IVC. Made possible through funding from the City of Irvine's Measure BB, the program will run from June 5 to July 21, 2023. Current IUSD students in grades 9 through 11 and incoming 9th graders in the 2022–23 school year attending Creekside, Irvine, IVA, Northwood, Portola, San Joaquin, University, and Woodbridge high schools will be given an exclusive first-come, first-served opportunity to enroll in any of the following CSU- and UC- transferable general education classes. Abilities Awareness Event and Community Resource Fair- Join us April 26th from 5:00 pm - 7:30 pm at Northwood High School. This event is intended to bring all of us together including community resources that support inclusive practices in Irvine to celebrate, connect, and inform. Additionally, the event will include music, performances, an art gallery, and more. Food will be available for purchase via food trucks.

High School Updates
Universal Studios Senior Trip- Didn’t buy your ticket on time and now regretting your choice? Well this is your lucky day because we have some additional tickets to sell! We will sell the tickets until we are out and we have 20 tickets left. Please see Mrs. Barajas in the admin office to purchase yours and pick up a permission slip. The trip is on May 18 and the bus pulls out of the CHS parking lot at 8 AM and return to the parking lot at about 7 PM.
Dual Enrollment- Earn college credits from Irvine Valley College while attending High School! Dual enrollment classes help you earn your college degree faster, save money on college, and offer you the opportunity to explore subjects not offered in high school. Please note that these courses cannot be used to replace high school courses, and do not go on a student's high school transcript. Middle School Updates
Middle School Progress Grades- Parent portal is now open for parents and students to view grades. Parents will log on to their portal account at https://my.iusd.org
