Superintendent's Message
Loveland Tiger Community,
We’ve gotten great feedback on our first Town Hall Meeting. Your neighbors think it would be a great idea for you to attend a Town Hall and get involved in the conversation - just check out the video above. During our Town Hall Meetings, we get people together for small group discussions about important topics like school finances, student achievement, transportation, and more. The evening is designed to give us an opportunity to listen to our community.
Our next Town Hall Meeting takes place in a few days on Wednesday, November 8, at 6 p.m. in the cafeteria of Loveland High School.
I enjoy having conversations and getting to know people - it’s how we build relationships and get great work accomplished together. During the 2021-22 school year, we brought together a team of community members, parents, and staff to build our #beLOVEland Strategic Vision that guides what we do. During the 2022-23 school year, I spent many evenings in driveways and backyards, talking to our community about school finances. This school year, we’re continuing the work of engaging with our community by hosting Town Hall meetings with the goal of listening and learning from you.
I hope you’ll take the time to attend our Town Hall next week. You can learn more on our website at www.lovelandschools.org/engage. I also encourage you to complete our district-wide survey.
If you have any questions, you can always send me an email at broadwmi@lovelandschools.org.
Go Tigers!

Celebrating Showcase Night
Showcase Night at Loveland High School on October 25 was a big success. We had a crowd of parents and community members who showed up to see some of the great things going on across Loveland City Schools. The district-wide open house gave students and staff members a chance to show off what they’ve been working on this year. Families also connected with new clubs, activities, and volunteer opportunities. Thank you to everyone who attended!
Congrats to LHS Cheer!

Real-World Learning on “Exploration Wednesday”
Loveland High School students celebrated Exploration Wednesday on October 11, 2023. On Exploration Wednesday, Loveland High School pauses regular instruction to give students a chance to explore college and career options.
Students in Grade 9 used the day to take early steps in their career exploration by spending the day at work with a family member or friend.
Students in Grades 10 and 11 use Exploration Wednesday to complete college and career assessments. The Practice ACT and PSAT are helpful for college admissions, while the ASVAB helps identify potential military careers, and the WorkKeys assessment measures job skills needed in the workforce.
Seniors can spend the day job shadowing in fields they’re considering after graduation. Local businesses partner with Loveland High School to provide these real-world opportunities and help students decide about college majors or career training. Seniors can also use the day to visit a college or trade school, meet with military recruiters, or participate in volunteer opportunities.
Exploration Wednesday is a big part of our #beLOVEland Strategic Vision goal of creating career-ready, lifelong learners. Loveland City School District sets aside an entire day to help students explore the many pathways of success through enlistment, enrollment, or employment. Thank you to the businesses and organizations who partnered with us to provide students with fantastic opportunities!

LHS Presents The Hilarious Musical “Something Rotten”
In Shakespeare’s time, there may have been something rotten in Denmark, but there will be something wonderfully entertaining at Loveland High School November 15th-18th. Over 60 students are involved in the fall musical production Something Rotten. The show is an homage to Shakespeare and the wonderful world of musical theater, poking fun at both of them while writing a love letter like no other.
Shakespeare is the bomb, the Elvis of Renaissance writers, and the Bottom Brothers are trying desperately to compete in the London theater world. Nick spends his life savings to visit a soothsayer to find out what will be the future of theater and beat out the bard. And it’s MUSICALS!
Not to give too much away, but tap-dancing eggs at a wedding feast try to work in as many musical references as possible.
Tickets are on sale at https://lovelandhstheater.wixsite.com/lhsdrama/box-office.
Loveland High School Named to AP Honor Roll
Loveland High School has been named to the 2023 AP Honor Roll with a silver designation. 62% of LHS seniors experienced at least one Advanced Placement (AP) course before graduation, and 48% of students taking AP exams scored a three or higher, earning them college credit. The College Board’s Advanced Placement program enables students to pursue college-level studies with an opportunity to earn college credit, advanced placement, or both. Congratulations to our LHS students and staff!
Celebrating the "Walk for Water"
Sixth-grade students at Loveland Intermediate School participated in the 10th Annual Walk for Water last month. After reading the book “A Long Walk to Water” by Linda Sue Park and learning about the challenges some people face in providing water for their families in South Sudan, students take part in a fundraiser and a symbolic walk of their own. The Walk for Water has raised more than $83,000 and helped to drill nine wells. You can donate by following this link. Learn more about the impact our Walk for Water has by following this link. This project is a great example of how Loveland students learn our Core Values of Care, Respect, and Responsibility. Thank you to everyone who takes part in this great Loveland tradition!

Pass-It-On Food Drive 2023
It is time for Pass-It-On, our district-wide food drive for L.I.F.E. Food Pantry. The food drive continues through Thursday, November 16.
This is the 22nd year for Pass-It-On. L.I.F.E. Pantry will use these items to create holiday food baskets for Loveland families in conjunction with Northstar Community Church, other local churches, and local businesses.
Historically, this is the largest food drive of the year for L.I.F.E. Food Pantry. Our kids should be proud of the impact their contributions will have on the community.
For more information, please reach out to the Pass-It-On Food Drive Co-Chairs Ashley Nellis or Penny Dippold via email: passitonfooddrive@gmail.com.
Request for Volunteers
Loveland Robotics is looking for volunteers! Our amazing Robotics program is hosting the 6th Annual VEX Robotics Tournament on Saturday, December 16, at Loveland Intermediate School. To make the event a success, Loveland Robotics needs volunteers in a variety of roles - including judges. Students in grades five and up can volunteer, and Loveland Robotics will certify volunteer hours.
Volunteers are also needed to serve as judges. You do not need a technical background, just an interest in curiosity and a willingness to collaborate with fellow judges. To learn more about VEX Robotics, follow this link. Learn more about volunteer roles and sign up by following this link.
Please contact Amy Stewart, stewaram@lovelandschools.org, with any questions!
