Quarterly Update- 10/2023

The new school year has begun!

A new school year is upon us and we couldn't be more thrilled!

Our ECHS program has wonderful students who endeavor to do their best on a daily basis! It is great to see how much progress students make from one year to the next. Our College Programs Department strives to help students obtain their academic goals, as well as set them up for future success.

We are so proud to be working with a great group of students. We look forward to what the rest of the year has to bring!

Coordinator of College Programs

Our Coordinator of College Programs is Amanda Martin. She has her Bachelor’s in Science from St. Edward’s University and her Master’s in Education from Liberty University. She has taught students of all ages in China, Germany, Spain, and the Czech Republic. She began working for Poteet ISD in 2018. She has a passion for teaching students and helping them succeed in their educational endeavors.

ECHS Cohorts

Our cohorts this year have been working very hard! Our Juniors and Seniors are doing wonderful with their face to face classes at Palo Alto College! If they are not in class, they can be found studying in the library. Our Sophomores are working hard since they have more college classes this year! They are learning how important time management and communication skills are to success. Our Freshman will begin taking their first college class next semester. In the meantime, they are learning essential research and study skills that will benefit them as college students with our Librarian, Michelle Ramirez!

A special shout out to our Seniors who have been working nonstop completing scholarship applications and college applications! Our Senior Cohort has 22 students who are all on track to graduate with their Associate's Degree from Palo Alto College by the time they receive their High School Diploma!

Have you spotted us?

Our Department of College Programs was present at our first football home game. We were passing out informational pamphlets and swag! Our cheerleaders have been throwing footballs and t-shirts at home games from our department as well! Keep a look out at the next home game for the chance to snag one!
