This week, we focused on teaching the campers about humility. They learned that in Islam it's important to be humble, so they shouldn't think of themselves being better than others!

In Prophet’s Heart, students recognized that everyone has different strengths and that these are gifts from Allah SWT. Using the classic book ‘Rainbow Fish’, the students also learned to apologize to others, accept advice, and receive compliments graciously.

In Divine Stories, students were introduced to Prophet Sulaiman (AS) who was tested with the distractions of this life, but he always remembered Allah and returned back to Him for forgiveness and guidance.

Students learned that even though we have a lot of distractions in our life, we need to remind ourselves of our main purpose (worshipping Allah SWT).

The students also realized ants are a miracle of Allah's creations as they are so tiny but so organized in the way they function!

In STEAM, the students spent the week learning about plants! They also learned that Allah SWT gives us rewards for small acts like planting a simple seed.

Small acts = BIG results (beneficial for the earth, beneficial for us, beneficial for others.)

Just as Allah is Ar-Raheem, we should extend mercy to everything around us.

On Thursday, the students made individual pots and planted seeds! They will be taking their plants home, regularly watering them, and keeping them in the sunlight. We encourage students to track the growth of their plants in their 'Planting Journals' provided to them by their teacher over the period of the next 2-3 weeks and reflect on Allah’s creation.

The students focused on two names of Allah (SWT) this week, Al-Latif (the Forebearing) and Al-Haleem (the Subtle one). In Art with Sister Nida, they were able to work on their patience and kindness while using recycled paper to embody the names through creativity!
