One of our own competes in USA Weightligting Nationals Meet!
Stone Larson (11th grade) will be competing at the USA Weightlifting Nationals Meet as part of the USAW National Week in Colorado Springs. He and other athletes from the state hit qualifying totals during our high school season for their ages and weight classes and are now members of Junior/Youth Team Minnesota. There will be coaches from Lakeville South, Northfield, Detroit Lakes, and myself in attendance as they compete. Team points are rewarded based on the organizations Sinclair Points System. This is a really cool experience because he will be on the same platforms and using the same equipment that our country's Olympic athletes will be competing on later in the week!
He lifts with the 73 kg class/male/16-17 year old Group B on platform White. The time for his lift will be 4:20pm central time on Monday (6/26). Based on the grouping, he should be near the top of his group! There will be a live stream of the event if you want to watch him lift. It can be found here: https://www.teamusa.org/usa-weightlifting/live
While he's competing as a member of Team Minnesota instead of Eagan High School or part of the high school league, he's very excited to represent Eagan and the State on Monday!
