Thank You and Farewell to Two School Board Members

As their school board terms come to a close, we want to recognize and say a big “thank you” to Heather Tell and Lewis Jones for their dedication and years of service to our schools. Thank you both for your leadership and commitment to our students, staff, and CSD community. Through your dedicated service, you have really made a difference in CSD schools!

Board Spotlight: Westchester Elementary School

Co-principals Ms. Latonya Henry and Ms. Christie Manasso and Ms. Wanda Nesbitt, Teacher of the Gifted, presented Westchester's spotlight, which featured information about a recent equity walk done by staff. The team made connections to EL Education core practices and Westchester's school work plan. The spotlight ended with a short WETV video of students engaged in collaborative learning.

Benefits & Salary Compensation Comparison [FOR DISCUSSION]

Ms. Lonita Broome, Chief Financial Officer, and Ms. Adena Walker, Chief Human Resources Officer, shared a presentation regarding a benefit and salary compensation comparison. They shared how CSD salary bands compared to those of other similarly sized employers in the education industry and metro area. This review will assist the District in planning for future needs and allow the district to anticipate how to budget for employee retention and hiring needs in the future.

Monthly Data Report [FOR INFORMATION]

The monthly data reports from principals are provided to support school improvement plans that take a systemic approach to improve student achievement and school quality. These reports will present a graphic summary of important school data to allow the Board easy access to important metrics that the school is measuring to determine how the district and the school are doing on meeting district and school goals. The reports will be updated monthly and posted on the Board of Education agenda to provide all stakeholders with up-to-date information on how the school is progressing in meeting its goals.
