Nixon Elementary Weekly Update

Hello Nixon Families,

We had an AMAZING time with our first Expectation Celebration last Friday. We celebrated so many learners who made it through the first 4 weeks of school with 0 office referrals. We will be announcing our next celebration this week---it's sure to have our learners jumping for joy when they hear about it!

• Picture Day THIS TUESDAY: Picture day is this week, so be sure to look in your child's backpack for the form that was sent home late last week. Send the filled out form and payment to school with your child on Tuesday!
  
  
• PTA Meeting Tonight: Please join us for our first Nixon PTA meeting of the fall tonight at 6:30 in the Nixon Library. We will discuss upcoming events, make plans for supports at the school, and have updates on all things Nixon. Can't make it in person? • Last Call for Handbook Notes: If you haven't already sent in your Green Handbook Received note to school, please do that ASAP. I'll be starting to connect with families who haven't turned them in yet to get those filled out. Thank you for all those who have already turned them in!

The Friends of Hiawatha Public Library are pleased to bring Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library to the Hiawatha, IA community. The Dolly Parton Imagination Library is a book gifting program that mails free, high-quality books to children from birth to age five who reside in the 52233 zip code. This furthers Hiawatha Public Library’s mission to strengthen the community and improve the quality of life by providing resources and programs that foster the creation of young readers.

Don't live in the 52233 zip code? No problem! The Cedar Rapids Library is also a part of this exciting program.
