Edgenuity Coursework
You are expected to work in each of your Edgenuity courses for 1 hour per day in order to stay on pace and be successful. Your teachers, mentor, and Mrs. Nast are able to view how many minutes a day you are working and in what course you are working in.
Per our handbook, if you have not completed at least 15% of the total coursework with a passing grade after two weeks of the course start date you will be recommended to return to in-person learning.
Start strong! You can do this!
Elementary Corner
- Make sure you are attaching the correct assignments before submitting.
- Weekly schedules are posted every Friday in Google Classroom. This schedule will let you know when you need to sign in for meetings.
- Wednesday check-ins are posted at 8am every Wednesday. Be sure to answer that question.
- Reading and math testing starts next week and will continue for a couple weeks. Times will be posted in our weekly schedule. That testing will take place in room 205 at the high school. You'll need to come in through the office. Be sure to bring your Chromebook when you come in.
- Please make sure that as an “instructional coach,” or parent/guardian, you are only guiding and facilitating your child’s learning!
Capturing Kids’ Hearts
Our district focuses heavily on establishing relationships and connections and embedding social emotional learning into our instruction. Your students will see monthly character traits embedded in their Wednesday check-ins and assignments. This month our focus is empathy!
What is Empathy?
- Empathy is the ability to be aware of, understand, and be sensitive to another person’s feelings. Instead of focusing on how these feelings impact ourselves, empathy motivates us to focus on others and respond with care and compassion.
Why focus on Empathy?
- Empathy builds positive classroom culture.Empathy empowers students to learn to understand each other to build trust and safety in the classroom.
- Empathy strengthens communities. Empathy helps students strengthen their relationships with classmates, other students, and adults at school, and at home.
- Empathy prepares your students to be leaders in their community. The best leaders understand the people they lead and are able to show they care.
