A MESSAGE FROM GALENA PARK ISD'S COLLEGE & CAREER READINESS DEPARTMENT

The research is clear that children who don't read during the summer can lose up to three months of reading progress and that loss has a cumulative, long-term effect. The following resources will allow your child to discover fun activities to encourage them to learn, read and have fun in the summer sun!

Phase 1 is moving along. At the May 2017 Board of Trustees meeting, construction contracts were awarded for three projects.

Two groundbreaking ceremonies have already taken place (Galena Park Elementary-May 16th and North Shore Elementary-May 23rd), with two more (North Shore 10 and Woodland Acres Elementary) scheduled for June. Construction of these first four projects will begin this summer.
