Let's get to know our TOY:

This is my 8th year at Canyon Ridge and my 18th year teaching in Mustang. I taught 6th grade science for 10 years at South Middle School and Horizon. I've been teaching social studies since being here at Canyon Ridge. Sixth graders are my people! I have been married for 18 years to Isaiah Thatcher. We have 3 boys- Elliott (14), Ezra (12), and Ezekiel (10). I love teaching in Mustang and being part of this growing community!

Fun facts about me:

I grew up in a military family and moved often throughout my childhood.

I was homeschooled when I was in 6th grade.

I was born in England and have dual citizenship to the United States and the United Kingdom.

New York Times Bestselling author, Jennifer Nielsen, visited Canyon Ridge, delivering a motivational presentation to all of our students about the power of reading, writing, creativity and imagination. Nielsen shared inspirational stories growing up as a reader, discovering her love of writing, and challenges she faced becoming a writer. She even took questions from students and met with the Ridge Readers Book Club.

We will be celebrating Kindness Week on Feb 5-9.

Leadership will be selling candy grams for $2 in the morning Feb 6-8.

Re-enrollment notification emails have been sent to parents. Parents must complete re-enrollment first and then class registration can be completed.

Our 6th graders get an opportunity to see MPS fine arts production of Wizard of Oz at the PAC. Permission slips will be going home this week.
