Knighthawk Family News
Pleasant Knoll Middle School - April Edition
Message from Mrs. Hustedt
Knighthawk Families,
With the end of the year approaching quickly, we want to share some important dates and events that will be happening at PKMS. Our students have done a fantastic job navigating this unique year, and we are excited to have these celebrations to recognize their hard work and accomplishments. In accordance with our COVID guidelines and restrictions, all ceremonies and recognitions will be virtual for parents and guardians. With the number of students and social distancing requirements, we are unable to accommodate all of our parents at one time. While the format might not be what we prefer, we still want to allow our students to celebrate their success together as a grade level.
End of Year Activities
May 18th - Athletic Banquet
June 9th, 10th, and 11th: Grade Level Field Days
June 10th: 8th Grade Awards at 1:30 pm
June 17th: 6th Grade Awards at 8:45 am
June 17th: 7th Grade Awards at 10:00 am
June 18th: 8th Grade Recognition at 9:00 am
It has been such a blessing to work with your students and be a part of their middle school journeys. They make PKMS such a special place to be, and we can't wait to see what their futures hold. As we continue through the 4th Quarter, we look forward to working together to make sure the 2020 – 2021 school year ends on a good note.
We are thoughtful. We are empowered. We are connected. We are PLEASANT KNOLL!
Go Knighthawks,
Cori Hustedt, Principal

Nurse News
ATTENTION: 6th GRADE STUDENTS AND PARENTS
Please make an appointment for your child to update their Tdap vaccination before next school year. ALL seventh graders (including virtual students) will be REQIIRED to get the Tdap vaccine to protect them against whooping cough (pertussis). One (1) dose of Tdap vaccine (tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis) administered on or after the 7th birthday will be required for all seventh graders. It is strongly recommended that adolescents who have not yet received a dose of Tdap vaccine be immunized in advance of this requirement. Students who are not up to date with their Tdap vaccination may not be allowed to attend school. For more information, please visit www.scdhec.gov/health/vaccinations
Please send a copy of the immunization record to the school nurse with the updated vaccination information.
