PTA 'Casino Night'

I want to acknowledge all those who worked so hard to bring together the PTA 'Casino Night' last weekend, which proved to be both a fun evening and a great fundraiser for the school.

Events such as these are only made possible by our parent volunteers, so thanks as always for their mahi, and also to all those who turned out to support them on the night, including our generous sponsors for the evening.

Maths Week

We have plenty of excited mathematicians around the place this week for Maths Week, with a range of fun, engaging activities for the children to get involved in.

This is all part of our spotlight on promoting the fun of all things mathematical - something we strive for every week of the year! Thanks to all the teachers who have volunteered lunch breaks to help out with activities this week and also our Associate Principal, Hilary Edwards, for coordinating.

Te Wiki o Te Reo Maori

Following on from Maths Week, next week we celebrate Māori Language Week as a chance to kōrero (speak), waiata (sing), pānui (read) and more!

This continues the traditions set in motion when the Māori Language Petition was presented to Parliament in 1972, which we have marked as a nation on what we now know as Te Wiki o te Reo Māori since 1975 - we hope you will get on board as we acknowledge the past, celebrate the present, and prepare our tamariki for the future while celebrating all things Te Reo Māori.

Keep all of those lovely donations coming in - thank you - it's a very busy time with lots of new students starting!! Donation box in the office.

Time to bring in your Yummy Apple sticker collection sheets to the office. Any sheets received by 8th of September will be counted and posted to Yummy Apples be used towards this year's total . Any sheets received after this date will be saved for next year! Thank you for your help with collecting this year!

One successful night has passed and PTA members are starting to plan the next event. This time for the kids! The Halloween disco is a well attended event and much loved by many children at MENPS.

This is a MENPS community event run by parents and supported by the school. This event can't run without parent volunteers. Look out for an email from your class coordinator coming soon to volunteer and make this event a success!

Thank you to everyone who came along to the Casino Night on Saturday evening - we hope you had a great time. Huge thank you to everyone who participated in the online and live auctions - with your help we raised over $20,000 for MENPS! A fantastic result and we could not have done it without the generosity of so many businesses and families who donated goods and services to be auctioned - thank you!

It takes many hands to make an event like this come together - thank you to the hardworking planning team, along with everyone who assisted on the day - including with set up, lighting, event/games operations, pack up & anything in between - the planning team could not have done it without you.
