Principal's Message
Dear NAMS Families,
As winter break approaches, I want to take a moment to thank you for a wonderful first semester. Your support and involvement have been truly appreciated.
I hope you all have a happy and safe holiday season and a happy new year. May it be filled with joy, love, and warmth.
Please note that students will return to school on January 3, 2024, after the winter break. Use this break as an opportunity to spend quality time with your loved ones, recharge your batteries, and come back ready for another great semester.
Thank you again for your partnership and commitment to your child's education. Have a wonderful break!
Sincerely,
Mr. Kevin L. Freeman Sr.
Principal, New Albany Middle School
High School Registration - ATTENTION 8th GRADE STUDENTS
We invite you to attend New Albany High School’s Registration Night on Monday, January 22nd from 6:00 - 8:00 PM. This is an event to support families as they navigate the scheduling process for the next school year. The evening includes presentations focused on freshman, college and career planning, and future career trends as well as a curriculum fair where our teachers will be available to answer questions about course offerings. A more detailed agenda for the event will be communicated in early January.
This event is for current 8th grade students and high school families.
Lost and Found Items
We have a number of items that have accumulated in our school’s lost and found. Items left in the lost and found at the end of this week will be donated to a local charity. Please encourage your student to check the lost and found before leaving for winter break.
Book Challenge Update
NAMS students have been reading. At the beginning of October, we started our book reading challenge. To date students have read a total of 359,842 pages! Please remind your child to keep reading and recording their progress, as we appreciate your support in fostering a culture of reading at NAMS.

Focusing on Self-Care This Time of Year
As 2023 ends, we want to stress the importance of self-care. The holiday season is normally a time of joy and of friends and family getting together, but for many it’s a not-so-wonderful time of the year. Whether you are experiencing a mental health challenge or have a loved one with a mental health challenge, holidays can be hard. However, there is hope. Tips and resources are available to help implement and practice self-care during these times. Having and following a plan before the holidays and winter season can help us successfully navigate the holidays. Follow this link for some tips to help you get started.
On the behalf of Concord Counseling Services, we wish you and your family a safe, healthy, and restful winter break.
