Special Education Virtual Parent Forum
Join Director of Special Education, Melissa Phelps, on February 4 at 6:30 pm for a general information session pertaining to Special Education in the district so far this year. A review of Procedural Safeguards, remote learning, and a Q&A session will be included. Registration is required to attend.
UPK Registration - Last Week to Register!
Registration for September 2021 UPK classes begins January 11-27, 2021. A lottery will be conducted on Friday, January 29 to determine placement, parents will be notified of placement during the first week of February. Those that enroll after the January 29, 2021 lottery will be placed if and where spots are available. Registration packets are available online, or by visiting the District Office located in the Gananda Middle School at 1500 Dayspring Ridge, Walworth, NY 14568. Boys Soccer Can/Bottle Drive
Save the date! Our Gananda Boys Soccer team will be holding a can and bottle drive on Saturday, February 13 from 9 am-12 pm at Richard Mann Elementary. Drop your cans and bottles off and help support our student-athletes! Proceeds help support the boys modified/JV/Varsity soccer programs.
Reminder: Timeline for 2nd Half of the Year Changes:
Instructional Model Changes: Effective February 1 - If you would like to change your current instructional model from either in-person hybrid to remote, or vice versa, you would begin to participate in the new model on February 1, 2021. This is for all grade levels.
Transportation Changes: Effective February 15 - If you would like to make changes to your current transportation needs, such as having your student ride the bus instead of dropping them off, the change will be implemented on February 15, 2021.

Rick Wadsworth
For 21 years Rick Wadsworth has contributed to the successes of the Gananda Central School District. By selflessly fulfilling any role needed throughout the years, Rick regularly displayed his flexibility with poise and dedication. Rick is a genuine and good-humored member who brings a full story and entertaining anecdotes to any conversation.
His adaptability has been essential to our buildings but most importantly has been a kind and compassionate guide for our students.

Tracey Indiano
Tracey Indiano joined our Gananda School Community 19 years ago for the start of the 2002 school year. She started her career as an ELA teacher in middle school and 10 years later moved on to the high school. Over her 19 years, Tracey consistently put her students' needs and success first. She strived to provide them the tools and skills not only to be successful in ELA but to be able to transfer those skills to other disciplines. Tracey focused on the importance of being a proficient writer and reader as well as finding the enjoyment of literature in all its forms. She provided students a variety of educational experiences allowing them to explore, learn and grow in a manner that met their individual needs.

Richard Mann Elementary PBIS Staff Member of the Week
Over the next 3 weeks, we will be recognizing our fully remote teachers and the tremendous work they have done since the beginning of the school year. We will start by congratulating Aileen Castine for being our PBIS staff winner! Aileen has put in countless hours of work learning both kindergarten and 1st grade curriculum as well as different communication platforms. Her hard work has not gone unnoticed. We thank you for all that you do!
Playground Reopening During School Hours
We are excited to announce we will begin utilizing the playground during school hours for our elementary PAT (preferred activity time) sessions beginning Tuesday, January 19. The playground will only be available to our elementary students during the school day as scheduled per their color day and weather permitting. Safety procedures will be in place to ensure the well-being of all of our students and staff.

Softback and hardcover yearbooks are available with the option to add a personalized cover. Standard GMS yearbooks will be available to order until April 9, 2021. Driver's Education Course Begins February 2, 2021
Driver Education will be offered in the 2020-2021 school year to all eligible high school students. The in-class portion will occur during the week on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 3:00-4:30 via Zoom. The in-car portion requires a parent/guardian who holds a valid NYS license to deliver and attest to the 24 hours of in-vehicle instruction and to sign off on the required driving time and skills. This is a change to allow driver’s education classes to occur during the pandemic. See the form for more details - deadline to register is February 2, 2021, at noon.
