Hello Parents and Families,
The 1st two week of the 22-23 School Year have been amazing!
This week, we will begin our beginning of the year District assessments. Students will be assessed on their baseline skills in both ELA and Math. Our assessments will be administered on Tuesday, 8/16 and Thursday, 8/18. It is imperative that students are in attendance on these days. These assessments are not for a grade, however, it will help our teachers plan and meet the needs of our students as we gain foundational knowledge of what students already know and any skills they may need reteaching in. This data will inform how our teachers plan and better meet the needs of our students in our classrooms.
We are happy to announce that Mr. Skyler Rodgers has joined our school family as our Art teacher. Focus classes do look a little different this year, we have rearranged how often the students attend focus classes. This is to provide the time necessary for students and teachers for our school performances. For 9-week increments student will attend the same two focus classes twice a week for 40 minutes vs. once a week in previous years for 30 minutes. We have done a combination of two courses so that students will have an physically active class during each 9-week increment. Student will attend Art and PE or Dance and Music during the same rotation.
