Dear Families-Read on for the News
From our Director - Covid Update
Omicron is spreading quickly throughout our community, leading to record-breaking infection rates this week. I want to alert you to some changes to our protocols and a few requests in light of what we are learning:
- New Covid Guidance Matrix: Last night the PPCS Board approved adoption of Moscow School District's new Covid Guidance Matrix. The document is on our website at this link. Please refer to it when your family has a known exposure or family members are experiencing symptoms.
- Contact Tracing Changes: Unfortunately, we have seen an upturn in the number of cases among our students and staff. Due to the complexity of monitoring cases and the various Covid quarantine scenarios, we are following MSD's lead and will no longer be able to send out whole-class communication each time a positive case occurs in the school. Our focus will be renewed dedication to our safety protocols.
- Please continue to be vigilant and diligent! We are immensely grateful to our families for their efforts to keep our school community safe, by having students wear good quality masks, keeping sick students home, and communicating closely with me. The PPCS Board and I are determined to keep our school open. Please continue your due diligence to assist us in this goal. Continue to send your students to school well-masked, keep them home with known exposures or symptoms, and continue communicating with me when those occur.
- Consider serving as a substitute teacher! One of the things that makes it possible to keep our school running smoothly and keep our students learning is the availability of substitutes. Right now, our school -- along with the Moscow School District and communities across the country -- is experiencing a shortage of subs. If you have interest and capacity, please consider supporting our school by applying to be a substitute teacher. Our application can be found here.
