Chester Elementary School
March 27, 2023. A Year of Significance!
CES Happenings
Dear Parents and Guardians,
It seems a bit odd to be talking about Spring stuff, but here we go: Kindergarten Round-Up is next Tuesday, March 28, from 3:30 - 5:00 in the gym. We are welcoming Transitional Kindergarten students who turn five years of age between Sept. 2, 2023 and March 21, 2024, and also Kindergarten students turning five years old on or before September 1, 2023. Registration comes with a free health screening. If you know anyone that's eligible, please pass the word along. It's a great and important school event.
Ok, Spring talk aside, and I hate to say it, it looks like we have more snow coming in next week...cruel, really. Please make sure that your child is dressed appropriately. We have some of our older students literally dressed for spring/summer...likely a form of wishful thinking. Let's hang in there for just a little bit longer!
A great weekend to all of you. Take care.
Sincerely,
Scott Cory
Principal

The Rise of Vaping
Yep, elementary school is the time to start having this conversation with your child. We have a district-wide coordinator for this sort of thing and she has put together a resource for our elementary schools. Click here, or on the picture, to access the March newsletter.
March Mountain Messenger!
The March edition of the Mountain Messenger is here! There's some great content this month: Women's History Month Plumas County style, phenology, SnowSchool, snow/winter history (pretty fascinating), Mystery Science, and lots of grade-level activities coming up this spring. Click on the link above or on the picture to access the newsletter.
🎵Parents & Friends of Chester Music Programs! 🎵
Our Chester Band students are excited to get our music program back up and running and would like to attend the Reno Jazz Festival on Friday April 28th! 🎺
Would you please consider helping us fund the cost of bus transportation, RJF festival passes, and other expenses associated with this wonderful experience?
Our fundraising goal is $3,000 so that students in grades six through twelve can attend.
