Mrs. Schaub
Mrs. Schaub has been a teacher at PMSA for 12 years. She has taught all levels of Wellness and Health and this year she is teaching Health, Wellness 2, Wellness 3 and Wellness 4. Throughout her time here, she has been the class sponsor for several class clubs.
Q: What do you love most about teaching here at PMSA?
A: What I love most about teaching at PMSA is the celebration of all the cultures. My favorite moments are the Multicultural Assemblies. Not only do I love leaning about our students’ cultures, but to see them perform and share what their culture means to them is incredible!
Q: What has been your most memorable moment while teaching here at PMSA?
A: A couple years ago I had a student who knew that my two girls loved Disney. So, when her and her family went over Winter Break, she brought back a hand painted Mickey Mouse ornament for my family. It still goes on our Christmas tree every year!
Q: What is an interesting fact (s) that many do not know about you?
A: One thing that most people don’t know about me is that I would love to write a children’s book someday. When I was in sixth grade, I wrote a short story and was chosen to be a part of the Young Authors council in my area. After that I took several short story and poetry writing classes throughout high school and college. And, after I had my girls, I knew I wanted to write a book about them.
Q: What book (s) are you currently reading?
A: I am currently re-reading the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon. Time travel and historical fiction are my favorite genre. And this series my absolute favorite!!
Q: Is there anything that you would like to tell the school community?
A:
- I am the youngest of 12.
- I have an identical twin.
- I was born and raised on a farm in Northern Michigan
- I have two daughters. One is a senior in high school and the other is an 8th grader!
- I married my high school sweetheart.
- I was a cheerleader in college for 4 years.
Not only have these shaped who I am as a person, but I really feel like these life events have made me a better teacher.
Kennedi James
Kennedi James is a junior at PMSA. She has participated in Chorus, the Black cultural assembly, was a MC at the pep rally, in the annual fashion show, and is on the Proviso East cheer team.
Outside of school, she is a makeup artist, works at Jewel Osco, Top Teens of America, and other community activities. She does all of this while maintaining a 4.1 GPA.
Q: What is your most memorable moment as a student at PMSA?
A: Attending homecoming last year. It was my first time attending a school dance.
Q: What do you love most about PMSA?
A: I love the students. Everyone is close and has great school spirit.
Q: What are your plans post high school?
A: I plan to attend college. I want to major in early childhood development and minor in business. I want to eventually own and operate a daycare center.
Q: What is your number 1 college choice?
A: Grambling University in Louisiana.
Q: What is your favorite subject(s)
A: English (American Literature)
Q: What is your favorite book?
A: Monday's not Coming by Tiffany Jackson
Q: What is something interesting about yourself that you want to share with the PMSA school community?
A: I enjoy singing and performing.
Cool Things Happening
World Kindness Day
World Kindness Day is celebrated on November 13th each year. It is a day dedicated to promoting and celebrating acts of kindness, compassion, and goodwill towards others. The day serves as a reminder of the importance of kindness in our daily lives and encourages people to engage in acts of kindness, both big and small.
PMSA introduced World Kindness Day to our students, with help from our teachers and staff. Tickets were distributed to students who engaged in acts of kindness. There was a designated drop box located outside of the main office where students deposited their tickets, along with their name. Students who collected the most tickets will be eligible for prizes in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place.
