PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE
I hope you are all well and safe. I regret that due to COVID 19 I was not able to welcome each of you to St. Louis in April. To stay even more connected with members during this time, we will be distributing a NASPOG e-newsletter in alternating months. We hope our new format and content will be of value to you. Please send any personal news or articles of interest to share with the membership to info@naspog.org.
As September draws to a close, so does my tenure as President of NASPOG. It has been truly an honor and a privilege to serve in this role and to work with all of you over the past two years.
I would like to express my deep gratitude to the members of the NASPOG Executive Board for their commitment to strategic planning and revision of NASPOG’s governance practices, for assisting in the transition of NASPOG administration to a new chief operating officer, the creation of the new NASPOG website, the conversion of the NASPOG 2020 biennial meeting into a year-long webinar series, and for their leadership of new task forces (Member Value, Education and Research, Diversity and Inclusion, and Social Media).
More importantly, I would like to thank each and every one of you, as NASPOG members, for your commitment and loyalty to NASPOG. I believe our organization is truly unique and has a special place within medical societies.
And...we still need to hear your voice. If you have not yet had a chance, please consider volunteering for the open positions. I know that many of you have limited time due to the new demands that COVID-19 has created. The positions require small amounts of time.
As we work to support small businesses impacted by the pandemic, NASPOG is OUR very own unique “small business/organization”. Like many others, NASPOG has been financially impacted this year with the cancellation of our 2020 in-person biennial meeting. I encourage all of you to support NASPOG by registering and participating in the 2020-2021 Webinar Series. You can view the program schedule and registration information here.
Last but not least, I would like to warmly welcome Dr. Maria Muzik as President of NASPOG. Dr. Muzik is an expert in and a committed advocate for women’s mental health with a long history of service to NASPOG. NASPOG will be in excellent hands!!
Sincerely,
Dr. Chiara Ghetti
NASPOG President
