GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS
Eastview High School and District 196 Text Messages
Host a Student From Germany
Eastview High School has a partner school in Darmstadt, Germany. A group from Darmstadt will be visiting EVHS this fall from the 4th to the 14th of October.
YOU have a chance to host one of these students!
German students are visiting to learn about day to day life in Minnesota. Visiting students will shadow hosting students while at EVHS to observe their classes, lunch, and (if possible) after school activities.
What you need as a host:
-A place for a student to stay. They do not need a separate room, but they do need their own bed.
-Pick up and drop off from MSP Airport on the 4th and 14th. If this is not possible, we can work something out.
-Transportation to and from school. If your student takes the bus, they can ride with them.
-There will be some events/activities that we will do as a large group in the afternoons and evenings. Your German student will need a way to get to these activities.
-As of right now, it sounds like the German students will be able to get Breakfast and Lunch from school. They will need a meal in the evening.
If you are interested, please fill out this application so that we can match you with a German partner!
This is a great way to get to know students from another country, learn about another culture and make lifelong friends. Connect with Herr Sebald at steve.sebald@district196.org with your questions. We hope you can participate!

In addition to some important information regarding Booster Club Rules and Regulations, we will also have a short presentation from Snap Fundraise (along with some food!) as many of our booster programs already use them. Eastview High School will host its Annual Marching Band Festival this Saturday, September 9 at 5 pm
A total of 16 bands from across Minnesota and South Dakota will gather at the Eastview High School football stadium to perform their 2023-24 season ensembles. Competing bands include Hastings, Rochester Lourdes, Eden Prairie, Rosemount, Waseca and Brandon Valley (South Dakota).
Bands will be divided by class – A, AA and AA -- and will compete for competitive class placement and top honors in five categories.
The family-friendly event will conclude with the Eastview Marching Band’s exhibition of its own 2023-24 season show, “The Ballad of Eastview.” The Western-themed show features a mash-up of folk music, soundtrack tunes and more modern songs like “Old Town Road” by Little Nas X. The 175-member Eastview Marching Band will also don cowboy hats and western-style uniforms for the show – a first-time departure from the band’s standard garb.
“It’s a western, but it’s done the style of Eastview,” says band director Matt Gullickson. “For people who know us, it feels similar to the work we’ve done in the past, yet it’s a different sound and a different look for us.”
Gates open at 4 pm and tickets can be purchased in advance by visiting https://www.vancoevents.com/BZPY or scanning the QR code below or with cash or credit (via QR code) at the gate. Admission is $10 for adults and $6 for students and senior Citizens. Children ages 5 and under will be admitted free of charge.
