Notes from the Nurse
For the safety of all of our Cardinals, medications cannot be sent to school with your student. All medications must be dropped off by an adult directly to the nurses during school hours.
Accidents happen. Please make sure your student has at least one extra change of clothes in their backpack or at school.
For the past several days, I have been going into classrooms to teach students about germs and handwashing. Students have been hunting around the class for pretend germs in high touch areas to see how germs spread. Handwashing is our best defense against illness. Please practice handwashing and covering coughs/sneezes at home to keep our Cardinals healthy.

Body Boundaries Make Us Stronger
Teaching your young children about body boundaries and personal space is of utmost importance as it lays the foundation for healthy relationships and self-respect. By understanding these concepts, children learn to recognize and respect their own boundaries, as well as those of others. This knowledge helps them develop a strong sense of self, enabling them to set limits and communicate their needs effectively. Moreover, it empowers children to identify and respond appropriately to uncomfortable or inappropriate situations, fostering a sense of safety, and autonomy. Teaching body boundaries and personal space is an essential step in promoting healthy social interactions, building trust, and ensuring the overall well-being of young children. We encourage you to check out this read aloud and song that Menchaca counselors recommend!
