Midnight Mania

6th-12th graders are invited to join us for open gym and pizza immediately following our homecoming games on Friday, February 16th. The cost will be $5 and students must sign up & pay in the office by Wednesday, February 14th. Students can be picked up any time before midnight and must sign out with Mrs. Delaveau or Mrs. Kent. Please sign up in the office if you would like to donate any snacks to our fun night.

If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Delaveau, Mrs. Kent or the office.

Our in-house speech meet will take place on Tuesday, February 20 and Wednesday February 21st. Volunteers are needed to help with the judging from 8:30 to 11:30 each day. For more information or to help contact Julie Hitchcock at jhitchcock@hcseagles.com

The HCS School Board is looking to hire a full-time Director of Discipleship immediately.

Job Purpose: Serve as the Discipleship Director of Howardsville Christian School. As Howardsville Christian School seeks to fulfill its mission of providing a Christian Education of excellence wherein every subject and facet of life is taught with Biblical truth as its foundation, the HCS Discipleship Director will oversee the spiritual component of the “facet of life” portion of this mission. They will lead HCS in a manner similar to an under shepherd caring for a flock, therefore this role closely aligns with that of a pastor and the qualifications taught in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1 would apply, as well as a life ruled by 1 Cor. 16:14. HCS desires to teach a love for learning and of the Lord, and the Discipleship Director’s responsibilities support that goal. Because HCS is a ministry of Howardsville Gospel Chapel, the beliefs and held doctrine of the Discipleship Director should align with HGC’s.

Job Description:

· Teach the Bible classes as assigned.

· Plan, organize, implement, and evaluate Spiritual Emphasis Week each year for the High School.

· Plan, organize, implement, and evaluate Spiritual Emphasis projects within the Elementary School each year.

· Plan and oversee chapel speakers and services.

· Encourage teachers quarterly with spiritual equipping to minister to, pray for, and model Christian character to students.

· Be available for students who desire spiritual help.

· Coordinate with the Athletic Director in spiritual encouragement of student athletes.

· Establish a peer encouragement program.

· Assist the Administrator with implementation and planning of ITerm service programs

· Attend and participate in Biblical Counseling Training at Faith Church, Lafayette, IN.

Organize select senior student involvement in above training at Faith Church.

If anyone has an extra picnic table that they are no longer using, the elementary students could use a new table for out at recess. Contact the office if you have any questions!

School Closures: In the event that we need to close school you will receive a call from Mr. Bishop / Mrs. Muldoon through our Call 'em All system. We will also post closures on our HCS Facebook page and the CREW Facebook Page. We follow Three Rivers Public Schools for cancellations. If they close due to weather, we are closed as well.

Dress Code: Our Handbook is available online at www.hcseagles.com. Some items to note... no shorts, no leggings as pants, girls skirts/dresses should be around their knee.

FEVER FREE - Please remember that your students must stay home if they have not been fever free for over 24 hours without the aid of medication. When in doubt, please keep them home.

SICK DAY POLICY - If your student will be taking a sick day, please email Mrs. Muldoon by 8:30 a.m. If you would like their homework sent home with a sibling, please indicate that in your email. Homework requests will be available for pickup at 3:15 p.m.

APPOINTMENTS / EARLY RELEASE - If your student has an appointment and they need to leave early, please email Mrs. Muldoon & their teacher.

The next TRIP order will be placed on Jan. 29th please have your orders placed BEFORE noon. Please email Mrs. Rose if you will be placing an order. We have very limited TRIP cards available in the office, placing a specific order for your family’s needs would be best!

Scrip Gift Card Fundraising for Organizations • RaiseRight - TO SIGN UP INITIALLY!

You will need the CODE – ADD631BC185 to get signed up. Mrs. Rose will apply the percentage once a month towards your tuition. Feel free to have family and friends sign up under your student as well!

GYM Floor Project - The School Board will be starting a gym floor replacement fund. Our current floor is original to the HCS gym building and served us well for many years. It gets used for gym classes, athletic events, graduations ceremonies, Christmas Programs, indoor recess and much more! If you feel led to give, please send donations in to the HCS office.

Praise the Lord we received donations totaling $114,000 for the gym floor! We are almost there!
