IN 2022, our community engagement process resulted in a new strategic plan and our Portrait of a Graduate, a vision for our students and their future success. (see picture below)

As we launched CHAMPS, our positive behavioral campaign, we leaned on our Portrait to help students understand how being BRAVE would make all the difference in our schools. BRAVE is a more student friendly way of distilling our core values for so our kids can hold each other mutually accountable to what makes for a great school community.

Each month, staff members recognize students as BRAVE or VIP Vikings for living up to the values embodied in our Portrait of a Graduate. And from the many recognized in each school, I ask one student from Avoca West and one student from Marie Murphy to meet our Board of Education.

Be on the lookout in principals' posts or mine, and ask your student about being a BRAVE Viking.
