Park Hall's Weekly Newsletter
September 4, 2023
Important updates for the week of September 4, 2023
We hope all of our students are settling in to school and their classrooms.
As part of being a Title I school we are required to send out the Parent Right to Know Letter. This is also available on our Park Hall website. Park Hall has one certified teacher that is teaching outside of their certified area. Please see this letter for more information.
Spirit Wear is on sale now- Click Here to purchase your Park Hall shirts, hoodies and more! The sale ends October 1st and items will be delivered to the school in mid-October.
We are looking for 4th and 5th-grade students interested in participating in recycling. They would have to miss part of their recess once a week. If you are interested please let your teacher or Ms. McGrath know.
Please remember that all pre-k and kindergarten students must have a responsible person at the bus stop to pick them up off the bus. If not, the students will be brought back to school and bus riding privilege's may be revoked. If you need to change how your child is getting home, please let the office and teacher know by 2:30. Parent drop-off begins at 8:30 am. Students cannot be dropped off before that time.
Riding a bus is a very different experience for elementary students as there are no car seats or seat belts. In order to have a safe bus experience, please review and discuss this PowerPoint on PHES bus safety with your child.
This year, Park Hall is a CEP school. This means that all students receive free lunch and breakfast each day, regardless of income or qualifications. Families no longer need to fill out the Free and Reduced Meal application. This also means that families with children attending Park Hall (a CEP school) may qualify for reduced rates for internet services. Click here to find out more information.
All families are required to fill out the technology "Acceptable Use Policy" (see the link below) for each child attending a SMCPS school. We are also required to have families read and sign the Home/School Compact that was sent home on the first day of school as part of our Title I funding requirements.
In order to help keep all students safe, our PE department asks that on a student’s PE day, students should wear footwear that covers their whole foot (toes, heel and top of foot). Student's footwear should stay on their feet as they move throughout the gym and other activities. If a student does not have safe footwear on PE days, they may not be able to complete all tasks or have modified assignments.
Park Hall staff works very hard to ensure that all students have a positive school experience and we appreciate the help and support of our amazing Park Hall families. We look forward to working with you this year and we thank you for all your support!
