North Lake Family,

This past Thursday, I received an email from Dallas College asking for our Seniors to start the process of registering for Graduation from Dallas College. I was so excited to read this and reflect on how far this class of 2024 has come and the example they are setting for the cohorts that are following them. Their goals are big and they are casting a wide net to find success after their time at North Lake ECHS comes to a close in May.

Our goal as a campus is to support them during this exciting time of receiving college acceptance letters, planning for the future, and walking them through the next steps of their journey. North Lake ECHS takes pride in supporting all students during their time on our campus and I am thrilled that you are also taking the journey with us.

El jueves pasado, recibí un correo electrónico de Dallas College pidiendo a nuestros estudiantes del último año que comenzaran el proceso de inscripción para la graduación de Dallas College. Me emocionó mucho leer esto y reflexionar sobre lo lejos que ha llegado esta generación de 2024 y el ejemplo que están dando a las cohortes que los siguen. Sus objetivos son grandes y están lanzando una amplia red para lograr el éxito después de que su tiempo en North Lake ECHS llegue a su fin en mayo.

Nuestro objetivo como campus es apoyarlos durante este momento emocionante de recibir cartas de aceptación universitaria, planificar el futuro y guiarlos en los siguientes pasos de su viaje. February - March

Tuesday, February 27 -Dallas College Senior Graduation meeting with Dr. Baker. All Seniors must attend. STAMP Test for German 3 students.

Wednesday, February 28 - Uniform Day

Thursday, February 29 - English II STAAR Simulator, Dallas ISD Winner's Circle Celebration for Teacher of the Year and Teacher of Promise

Wednesday, March 6 - SAT Day for Juniors, English I STAAR Simulator, PTSA Meeting at 7pm (Virtual)

TELPAS

This past week many students took the TELPAS exam. This is a required yearly exam for all students classified as emergent bilingual. Over 100 of our students tested Tuesday to Friday this past week. Thank you to all that have completed testing during the window, if you missed your test date, please see Ms. Brokaw .

SAT Device Check

All Juniors will take the SAT on Wednesday March 6th. Prior to the SAT testing day students must complete a Digital Readiness Check. We have scheduled this for Monday February 26th in Advisory. Please ensure your 11th grade student is on time to school on Monday and brings their charged DISD laptop to school with them.

Additionally over the next two weeks students enrolled in an EOC course will also be taking their STAAR simulators. Please ensure your student is present at school everyday and brings their DISD laptop and charger everyday.

The Multicultural Club created a mural celebrating Black History Month! The Multicultural Club is sponsored by Mr. Darbonne!

Students in Mrs. Green's class registered to vote in the annual March to The Poll event.

Mrs. Green's Mock Trial group was honored at a luncheon for Dallas ISD Mock Trial teams!

STUCO recently went on a field trip to collaborate with other STUCO groups to brainstorm solutions for issues facing students in High School. STUCO is sponsored by Ms. Ferguson.
