COVID Portal
It is vitally important that parents and caregivers inform the school if their child tests positive for COVID-19.
To help streamline this process a COVID-19 Self-reporting Form for Students and Staff members has been developed by Catholic Education WA (CEWA). Parents and caregivers can now inform the school of their child’s positive or negative COVID result via the portal link on our website: https://www.qoa.wa.edu.au/covid-19-news/. The information will go directly to me, prompting our COVID response.
To support our planning for your child’s classroom attendance, please continue to notify us if your child returns a negative PCR/ RAT result, after:
• being identified as a close contact (Day 1 test to return to school as an asymptomatic close contact), and/or
• being identified as a household close contact (Day 7 test to conclude quarantine).
Please do not underestimate the importance of informing us of a positive COVID case. Your actions will ensure the risk to others is minimised and that we do our very best to limit the spread of the virus across our community.
Close Contact Rules
As you will be aware the close contact rules for school aged students has changed. Under the very high caseload setting, students who are asymptomatic close contacts, unless they are household close contacts, may:
• continue to attend school;
• attend care service centres;
• attend Outside School Hours Care (OSHC);
• attend school-based sporting, music, cultural training, practice or events that are organised by or take place at our school, and are held immediately before or after school; and
• travel directly between their usual place of residence and their school. Public transport should only be used if there are no other options available.
At all other times, asymptomatic close contacts should quarantine at home for 7 days and get tested, as per the requirements for close contacts, as follows;
• undertake a COVID-19 test on Day 1 and Day 6, if a PCR test; or
• undertake a COVID-19 test on Day 1 and on day 7, if a Rapid Antigen Test (RAT).
These arrangements DO NOT APPLY to children who are household close contacts of a COVID-19 positive person or who are experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms. This means that if anyone in a child’s household is serving 7 days isolation because they are COVID-19 positive, the child must remain in quarantine and not attend school.
Cricket Carnival
Well done to our cricket teams that represented our school at last week's regional interschool carnival. It was fantastic that this event was still able to take place and the games were played in great spirit.
The were some excellent performances on the day and our girls managed a 5th place finish with the boys finishing 3rd. Thank you to Mr Bridgeman for organising and to Mrs Maloney and Mrs O’Brien for helping out on the day. Thank you also to the parents for your support.
NAPLAN
A national coordinated NAPLAN practice test for our Year 3 and 5 students will take place on Thursday 24th March at 9.00am. The practice test will allow students an opportunity to become familiar with the question formats and functionality they will experience during the testing period. It will also help us check our devices and systems to ensure everything is in place.
NAPLAN testing for 2022 will take place between the 10th and 20th of May. More information will be provided closer to the date.
Best Wishes

Project Compassion Update
Thank you to all those students who donated to the Project Compassion Giving Box in their classroom. The class who raised the most money in the first week of the competition was ... Year 6!
Students in Year 6 are pictured below, proudly displaying their certificate and the Caritas chick whom they will host until next week when boxes are once again collected, and a new winner is announced.
Please give generously to Project Compassion and help Caritas with their important work throughout Australia and around the world.
