Hello SVDP Community,

Our week of Parent / Teacher conferences is almost over. Thank you for your partnership in helping our students work towards and fulfill the School-wide Learning Expectations (SLEs) of Saint Vincent de Paul School.

And we wish you a safe holiday weekend.

Many of you have asked about travel. We are still following the CDC guidelines. If you do travel, we hope everyone follows protocols to keep themselves and our school community healthy. While not required, we encourage families that travel to get tested upon return. These results can be shared at administration@svpdsf.com.

In September, your 2nd - 8th grade students took the STAR Renaissance test. The graphs below show our scores based on the Archdiocesan benchmarks.

As a community, we should be especially pleased with how we have progressed from our pre-pandemic results to today. Not surprisingly, in September of 2020, our students fell in both math and reading from our 2019 scores. In math, we dipped 2.5% and in reading 6%.

However, our 2021 scores show the we have recovered and exceeded our pre-pandemic scores. In math we have grown by 3.9% and in reading 8.2% from 2020.

We have reopened the link for spirit shirt sales (click below). The orders will close on October 8th. Shirts can be worn on Spirit Days and non-mass PE Days.

Thank you to everyone that submitted a letter of support to the Planning Commission. Reminder: Our hearing is 1:00PM on October 14th. We don't know where on the agenda we will be slated; these meeting can take several hours. Here is the link to learn more about participating in the hearing.

We had a great response to the first responder cards. Cards were given to our local fire and police departments.

The Advisory Board and the Administration know that our amazing families are the best spokespeople for SVDP. To remain competitive in the San Francisco school marketplace, we must attract families that share our educational standards, values, and sense of community. For these reasons, the Advisory Board is pleased to announce a Family Referral Program.

Beginning July 1, 2021, if you recommend a family that accepts enrollment and pays all their fees, incidental charges, and tuition through October for the 2022-2023 school year, the Finance Committee will apply a $500 credit to your FACTS account in October 2022. You will get $500 for each successful referral, with a max of three referral credits. Only one SVDP family may claim a referral. The FACTS credit must be used towards tuition, not incidental charges. When a family applies, they should include the name of the referring family on their application. Online applications have been updated to include this information. The referring family does not need to write a letter of recommendation to receive the credit.
