Principal's Message

October not only means the end of the first grading period but also BURGOO TIME! This is one of the most enjoyable experiences while you are at Marrs. Our parents and friends all pull together to make the best burgoo in the tri-state and the children have a blast. It is a wonderful community event and the largest fundraiser for our PTO. Burgoo begins after school with all of the prep work on Friday, 10/13, and will continue non-stop through the night and Saturday 10/14. Serving will start at 5:00 PM on Saturday along with all of the other fun things to do. If you have not yet volunteered to help with a committee, please click the volunteer button in this newsletter and sign up!


Just a reminder about the importance of school attendance. As a parent or guardian, you want your child to be successful in school and achieve his/ her highest potential. Being on time and attending regularly is crucial to your child’s education and the education of their classmates. If you are experiencing hardship or need suggestions about how to better prepare your child for school each day, please contact the school. Please keep your child home if they are ill and report absences to the nurse. Illness, dr. visits and quarantines are excused; family trips and vacations are unexcused absences and will count toward the 10-day policy.

September Shop with The Principal

Teachers nominate a student from their class each month to be rewarded for positive behavior, academic success, and hard work. Students who are selected get to shop from Mrs. Bushard's prize cart!

During the last few weeks of September, Mrs. Staib organized "Community Helpers Week". Several local professionals visited her class and discussed their careers.

Hello all!


We are approaching October and that means one thing, BURGOO! Please, if you haven’t already, sign up for a slot to help. There are multiple opportunities during several different times and days. This event is always a great time for everyone!
