It was a historic season for Southfield A&T Bowling. The Southfield A&T girls team went undefeated in league play, winning the Oakland Activities Association-White division, and the boys team finished eighth at regionals. Congratulations!

Thank you to our families, staff, and community members who supported the 3-day fundraiser at D'bo's Wings and Seafood. The money raised will be used to support our scholars at the elementary, middle, and high school levels.

There were some new students at Stevenson for a couple of days. Howard University students traveled to Southfield to spend their Spring Break educating young scholars on the importance of higher education.

Not only do our students engage with SEL- social emotional learning but our staff as well! During last month’s PD our staff participated in a SEL session about self-awareness and self-management.

Thank you to our Oakland County partners and Ms. Paula Lightsey for organizing this wonderful PD for our staff!

Students aren't the only ones who benefit from Pet Therapy. Teachers enjoy the weekly visits too. Therapy Dog, Chicken Nugget receives a ton of love at Vandenberg!

The Southfield A&T student council hosted their first blood drive since the pandemic. Students set a goal of collecting 25 pints of blood. Between students and staff, Southfield A&T, donated 27 pints of blood in just under 5 hours potentially saving 81 lives! Great work!

Joining forces to empower Southfield's youth, the Southfield Youth Assistance is seeking nominations for their virtual recognition event!

Who can nominate: Anyone can nominate a student, whether it be school administrators, teachers, counselors, parents or guardians, family members, or community leaders.

Selected students will be announced on April 28, 2023, and will be invited to join the virtual ceremony on May 9, 2023, from 6 to 7:30 pm. Don't miss the opportunity to celebrate the achievements of our youth!
