Weekly Wrap-Up #29

Welcome Back!

I hope you all had a wonderful week off - whether you spent the week vacationing, or relaxing at home, I hope you are rested, relaxed, and ready to get back into the swing of things! Spring Break marked the halfway point between the end of Winter break and the end of the school year! We are starting up the third trimester and these next few weeks will be full of important content and learning activities to close out the school year. For our upper elementary students, it also marks the countdown to state assessments. This year, our 3rd through 5th grade students will be participating in NJSLA testing in ELA and Math starting the week of May 1st. Testing will take place over a 2 week period ending on May 12th. Our 5th graders will also be tested in Science during this time as well. Makeup testing will take place the following week for absent students.

Monday we will be celebrating World Autism Awareness Day at Cucinella. This day is celebrated world-wide on April 2nd, and people show their support by wearing blue. Since April 2nd is Sunday, we are going to celebrate tomorrow by wearing blue to school. So join us in wearing blue for Autism as BAC gets ready to #LightItUpBlue for Autism Awareness!

Mark your calendar to "save the date" for BAC's ARTS-rageous 2023!!!!! Families are welcome to join us for an evening of Art & Music at BAC, on Thursday, April 27th from 6:30 - 8:00pm. This special evening will feature student artwork, choral and musical performances, and make & take activities. We look forward to celebrating The Arts together with your Family!

ARTS-rageous 2023 is quickly approaching & we are looking for parent volunteers to assist with preparing the nearly 1,500 pieces of student artwork that will be exhibited the evening of 4/27.

~Tasks include; cataloging, matting, labeling and hanging artwork.

~Check out our Sign-Up Genius for Art Volunteers (emailed to PTO members and posted on the BAC PTO web page), sign up for a time slot that works best with your schedule!

~It's a fun opportunity to meet fellow BAC parents, get a cool perspective of all that goes in to preparing for an art show & snacks are provided!

It's that time of year! We are looking to get our incoming Kindergarten students registered for the 2023-2024 school year. If you have a child who will be five years old on or before October 1st, 2023, please register for kindergarten. Early registration allows us to plan for the appropriate class size for the upcoming school year. We are hoping to have students registered by February 18th. The next step of integration is we now exclusively use PickUp Patrol for recording your child's absences. Please click here to review how to use the program to record absences.

The absence line which was previously used to record absences has now been disconnected.

Our secretaries and nurse are no longer checking phone messages for absences. This information is now handled exclusively through the PickUp Patrol app. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we continue to integrate this new attendance management system.
