Since it is Summer . . .
Summer Scholars Guide
With that in mind, Knox County Schools has created a Summer Scholars Guide, which is designed to help students avoid summer learning loss and prepare for the upcoming school year.
The Guide includes practice tips and suggested activities that are grade-specific. These activities are not required, but they will help students be ready for the upcoming school year.
The guide also includes a list of academic standards from the grade level a student has recently completed, and a list of standards related to that student’s next grade level.
One of the best things students can do over the summer is read, and the guide includes a list of grade-specific books for students. The Knox County Public Library has 18 locations, and is a great resource to support reading throughout the summer.
