The TAP is designed to make public transit more affordable for people with lower incomes. TAP provides a year-long reduced fare pass on a Go-To Card. Customers can use a bus or train for just $1 per ride – even during rush hour – with a 2½ hour transfer.
Students who receive free/reduced lunch (and other members of their families) are eligible for this program and can apply online or in-person at one of the Metro Transit Facilities. Students can use their Fridley IDs as proof of identify and can use a Free/Reduced Lunch Approval Letter as the proof of eligibility for the program. Go to https://www.metrotransit.org/tap-riders for more information or to apply. If you need help applying or need a new copy of the lunch approval letter, please contact Kelsey Knutson (Kelsey.knutson@fridley.k12.mn.us) or Tara Finnesgard (tara.finnesgard@fridley.k12.mn.us).
