Tuesday, March 7th, is ACT testing day at FHS. This day will look different for each grade-level.

Tuesday, March 7th is a required blended learning school day for all 9th grade students. All 9th grade students will be learning from home. To be marked present in their classes, 9th grade students are required to answer an attendance “check-in” question. These attendance “check-in” questions can be found in each of their classes' Google classrooms and can be answered during that class’s normal meeting time. Students should have work to complete in each of their Google Classrooms for each of their classes.

On March 7th, 10th graders will be taking the PreACT at Fridley High School. Students will arrive at school at the regularly scheduled time. Testing locations with student names will be posted in the high school cafeteria. Students will not be admitted to the testing room once the test materials have been distributed so it's very important to arrive at school on time. Please note: there is no date to make up the PreACT.

Students will be testing from 8:30-11:45am and will be served lunch after the test. Students will participate in structured afternoon activities following lunch and school will dismiss at its regular time. If you have questions about the PreACT, please reach out to your student's academic dean.

On March 7th, all 12th Grade students will be participating in a required "Get Ready to Graduate Day" at Fridley High School. Students should arrive at school at their regularly scheduled time. This day is designed to help 12th graders learn about and complete various college and career readiness objectives to prepare for life after graduation. 12th grade students will be selecting six workshops to attend on March 7th. Workshop options include: College Application Help, FAFSA Completion Workshops, Scholarship Workshops, Construction/Electrician/Plumbing Apprenticeship presentations, Community and Technical College Pathway presentations, employment opportunities in the Fridley area, a study hall, and much more!

Early Spring Conferences will be on Thursday, March 9th from 4-8pm at Fridley High School. Please come through Door 1 (main entrance) to receive your student's schedule and map. Conferences take place in the media center, media center hallway, and cafeteria.

Please join us for the Spring Band and Choir Concert on Monday, March 27th at 7:00 PM in the FHS Auditorium, with performances by: Concert Band, Concert Choir, Varsity Band, Show Choir, and Jazz Band. This event is free and open to the public! Freewill donations also accepted.

The TAP is designed to make public transit more affordable for people with lower incomes. TAP provides a year-long reduced fare pass on a Go-To Card. Customers can use a bus or train for just $1 per ride – even during rush hour – with a 2½ hour transfer.

Students who receive free/reduced lunch (and other members of their families) are eligible for this program and can apply online or in-person at one of the Metro Transit Facilities. Students can use their Fridley IDs as proof of identify and can use a Free/Reduced Lunch Approval Letter as the proof of eligibility for the program. As graduation is fast approaching, it is time to begin the SENIOR SLIDESHOW. Using the link below, upload images of yourself throughout the years. You can include group photos, friends, hangouts, etc. Make sure you submit some photos of yourself, too! The link to add photos is posted in the senior google classroom.

We will be holding a senior meeting on March 27th during advisory (9-9:30am). All seniors (including PSEO) are expected to attend. This meeting will cover:

• Scholarship Information

• Graduation Information

• Senior All Night Party Information

• Credit recovery/extended day deadlines to graduate

We will share the slides in google classroom after the meeting if you are unable to attend.

The application for Fridley Community scholarships will open on Monday, March 27th. The application will be posted on the Class of 2023 Google Classroom page. All Fridley High School and Fridley ALC seniors are welcome and encouraged to apply.

Last year, over $130,000 was awarded to seniors. Scholarship recipients will be recognized at an evening ceremony on May 18th. The application will close at 4:00pm on April 14th. If you have any questions about the scholarship application or the process, please contact your student’s academic dean.

Matt Kiefer, the Get Ready Program staff at Fridley High School, is here to help you! Matt Kiefer is available to meet before/after school or through a google meet. If you still need to complete your student's FAFSA, the following documents are required:

• 2021 Tax Forms (1040 tax forms)
• Social security numbers, birthdates, and personal emails of Parents/Guardians and 12th Grade student

• 2021 W-2 Forms for parents and student (if student completed taxes in 2021)
• Estimate of current amount in savings, checking, and cash.
• FSA ID created for student and for one parent/guardian

Graduation is coming! This year's commencement ceremony will take place on our very own Fridley High School Football Field!

We have started collecting the senior participation fee for any senior wishing to participate in the commencement ceremony on Thursday, June 1st at 7pm. If you are a parent/guardian of a 12th grader and have not paid this fee, please submit your $40.00 graduation fee to Fatima Alnizami in the main office as soon as possible.

Hello Families,

Nutritional Services is seeing an increase in the number of students who have a negative lunch balance. Please check your student's lunch balance using the Campus Parent Portal. Money can be deposited online using your Parent Campus Portal via credit card or echeck. Cash can also be turned into Kathy Backstrom in the High School Office. If you are having trouble paying for your student's meals, please complete the Application for Educational Benefits to see if you qualify for free or reduced priced meals. Applications can be completed at any time during the school year. If approved, you are still responsible for the outstanding debit.

Middle and High School students will need to have their bar code card, student id, picture of their bar code or the bar code on the Campus Student App at the cashier station.

If we do not receive a form, your student will not be assigned to a bus. This process is new this year due to the driver shortage. Please submit the form as soon as possible to ensure your student(s) has a bus stop assigned.

Please read the documents below for our updated practices for maintaining a safe and healthy learning environment in Fridley Public Schools for the 2022-2023 school year.

With seasonal flu, RSV, and other respiratory illnesses on the rise, remember to keep your students home when they have a fever of 100 degrees or higher, are throwing up, have diarrhea, or are generally not feeling well. Please teach your kids how and when to wash hands with soap and water, cover their cough, and how and when to use hand sanitizer, to help decrease the spreading of germs.

Don't want to miss an announcement from us, or want to be alerted if your child is absent from class, as well as stay up to date on their coursework? Complete your Campus Parent Portal account. The Parent Portal is designed specifically for parents, providing school information at your fingertips with real-time access to announcements, attendance, assignments, Transportation, grades (if applicable), schedules and more. Parents can view all children they are assigned as guardian to and that are currently enrolled in Fridley Public Schools, grades PreK 12. Each parent/legal guardian should create their own account for their children.
