January 2024
A Note from Leadership
WE ARE OSSEO - Innovative, Courageous, Focused, Reflective & Conscientious!
Happy New Year Orioles! As we say goodbye to 2023, and welcome staff and scholars back to our building in 2024, we reflect on our journey so far this school year, and set our focused sights on Trimesters 2 & 3. We're nearly though half the academic year, and this is a great time to check in with both self & scholar. Is there anything you need to ensure success as we continue along the 2023-24 school year journey? How might we best support you and your scholar in the second half of this year? Please remember, upcoming conferences are a great opportunity to check in with instructors, connect with our community and access additional supports from technology, to counseling and social emotional services.
We are excited for our continued partnership in 2024. As always, please reach out if we can help you or your scholar in any way!

December Highlights
ON-A-ROLL
As part of our PBIS initiative (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) OSH admin met "On-A-Roll" award recipients during lunch with congratulatory pizza and words of encouragement for their conscientious & focused behavior and growth.
Each of the 60 scholars honored also received a "On-A-Roll" t-shirt and certificate detailing their positive momentum and impact. Keep up the Excellence Orioles! We see you!
Music of the Season
Our music department and scholars never fail to impress with their dedication to craft - courageously sharing their talents with the OSH community. Our orchestra and choirs closed out the year with lovely concerts, the Chamber Choir caroled around the building and the Jazz Band kept things festive with live morning music before break! Special shoutout to staff members who surprised scholars with a special choir concert performance of their own!

Winter Spirit Week
Once again our community brought their competitive spirit-week-game as we cruised into break! Staff and scholars celebrated a full seven days of dress up themes - Flannel Day, Warm & Cozy Day (aka PJ Day), Summer Vacation Day, Blizzard Out (white or blue out), Ugly Sweater Day with the Student Senate sponsored Ugly Sweater Contest, Your Favorite Holiday and finishing up with Shine into the New Year (Glam - gold/silver).
Our clerical mavens Sully & McD took home the coveted staff spirit award this time with their dedication and incredibly innovative take on Blizzard Out Day (see right), but Science was close on their heels with curriculum inspired cell-themed Ugly Sweaters. That is dedication!
