Blanco HS was recently named to the 2023-24 Best High Schools list by the US News and World Report. The publication ranks over 17,500 schools nationally. Blanco HS was in the top 35%. BHS was ranked above schools of similar size within our geographic area and that we compete with in extracurricular activities. This award is due to the hard work of our teachers, staff, and BHS students. The last time Blanco HS made the Best High Schools list was in 2019. Congratulations to BHS staff and students!

Students will be required to adhere to dress code standards when participating in dress up days.

Project Graduation and the Senior class will be hosting a Homecoming Dance. Please see the picture below for more information.

The floral design class completed their first project this week - creating duct tape clowers. Kayla Taylor is the Floral Design teacher.

The Freshman Class had the highest attendace in the district last week. Therefore the BISD Attendance Flag flew over BHS this week. Students learn best when they are at school learning with their peers. Attendance Matters! Way to go Freshmen!

The volleyball teams hosted Wimberley Tuesday. All 3 groups - Freshmen, JV< and Varsity lost their games. They will host Boerne Geneva Friday (Sept 8), SA Saints on Tuesday (Sept 12) - JV and V only, and Jarrell on Friday (Sept 15). Varsity will play first on the 15th due to the Homecoming festivities.

JV Football traveled to Comfort Thursday and came away with a win, bringing their season record to 2-1. The JV will be off next week. The varsity traveled to Antonian on September 1 and came up just short. They will travel to Comfort on Friday, Sept 8 and will host Beoerne Geneva for the home opener on Friday, Sept 15 for Homecoming.

Cross Country competed in Harper this week on Wednesday (Sept 6). Both teams finished 4th in their respective divisions. The following runners placed in the top 20 = (Boys) Sebastian Galvan (8th), Cooper Lawson (12th), Herman Uballe (18th) = (Girls) Sylene Acosta (14th) and Carleigh Dotson (17th). The teams will be back in action on Saturday (Sept 16) in Ingram.

Blanco ISD will be moving to online athletic ticket sales this year for all HOME games. This is for ALL Sports. The tickets can be purchased from the Blanco ISD website https://www.blancoisd.com/ There is a link to the online ticket site on the BISD main page. Alternately, you can also go directly to the ticketing site - https://www.blancoisd.com/367354_2

Fans can also download the Home Town Ticketing app to their smartphone and order tickets through the app.

Tickets are usually available for purchase 3-5 days prior to the contest. In person (cash) tickets will not be available at the gate/door.

This will only apply to BISD HOME games. We have no control over how other schools sell their tickets. If other venues require online ticketing, we will provide that information as soon as we have it.
