Dress Code and General Guidelines
In addition, Bellflower Middle/High School has adopted the following dress code and general guidelines to 1) ensure the safety and security of students and to 2) minimize distractions to ensure the focus remains on learning.
The following promote safety and security of our students and minimize distractions from learning:
Only Bellflower school hats are permitted to be worn, no other teams or logos.
Cellular phones must be on silent and out of sight during instructional time.
Earbuds and headphones are only allowed with teacher permission and must be used for education and instruction.
No sunglasses, hoods, hats or beanies on during class time.
Audio or video recording without consent of the person is not permitted.
Portable speakers, personal gaming devices or any electronic device disruptive to the learning environment are not allowed.
Skateboards, scooters, bikes, or other modes of transportation are to be locked up or turned into the BISC office.
Progressive Discipline
The following outlines the progressive discipline for students while on campus:
Dress Code Violations:
Warning and violation is corrected
Violation is corrected and parent/guardian notified
Violation is corrected and parent conference with the Dean
Violation corrected and behavior contract signed by parent/guardian, student and AP
Cell Phone Violations:
Teacher warning
Teacher confiscation and returned at the end of the period
Teacher confiscation, parent/guardian notified, returned at the end of the period
BISC office confiscation, parent/guardian notified, returned at the end of the day
BISC office confiscation, parent/guardian notified, parent must pick-up phone from the office
Carrying Electronic Devices or Modes of Transportation:
Warning
Office confiscation, parent/guardian notified, returned at the end of the day
Office confiscation, parent/guardian notified, parent must pick-up phone from the office
