Wiggin Street Parent Update
October 7, 2022
Better Together
Families,
It's been another great week at Wiggin Street! Don't forget to pick up your Mumkins on the playground this evening by 7:00. Also, the 3rd Grade will be singing for the Johnny Appleseed Festival this evening from 5:45-6:45. Hope to see you there!
I will be sending out a link on Monday for the Wiggin Street Spirit Wear sale. This is not a fundraiser, but a chance to purchase spirit wear that also make great Christmas presents.
We had another 2 grade levels go to a YES Concert this week. Have you wondered what YES stands for? The YES! (Youth Enrichment Services) Theater Series are held at the Mount Vernon Memorial Theater and are organized by the Gifted & Enrichment Coordinator at the Knox County Educational Service Center. All students in the county benefit from the opportunity to be a part of the series by grade level.
We hope you have a fabulous weekend!
Best wishes,
Christy Grandstaff

Thanks for the support for the Mumkins Sale. All Mumkins should be picked up today on the playground between 2-7:00 pm. New mats for the climbing wall in the gym have been purchased with the proceeds. A Snow Cone party will be in the future for ALL students to celebrate the success.
Check out our new Wiggin Street Parent/Guardian Directory! If you would like your information added to the directory, please complete this Wiggin Street Parent/Guardian Directory Form
The next Friends of Wiggin Street meeting is Tuesday, November 1st at 5:00 pm in the library. All are welcome!
Scholastic Book Fair
Pumpkins on Parade
Fall Harvest Parade and Parties
Costumes should come to school in a bag and children should be able to get in and out of their costumes easily. (If you feel your child needs help with his/her costume, please contact the classroom teacher.) Please make sure that there are no scary costumes because of our younger students. There should be no Halloween masks. No pretend weapons of any kind are permitted at school even as a part of the costume. Please save those for trick-or-treat night.
We ask parents not to pass out treats along the route, however some of the local businesses may pass out candy to kids. Any treats brought to school for the class parties must be individually wrapped.
Thrive Kids
Positive energy helps us to perform our best both in the gym and outside of it. That’s why at Thrive Kids we want our students to be leaders who are Energy lifters! This week we discussed the importance of being a leader who uses their words and actions to help bring the energy up! When we can be energy lifters we can help and inspire others to be their best!
The students completed a ladder workout with squats, abdominal twists, and burpees as we worked to increase their cardiovascular endurance!
Next week will be our FINAL WEEK of Thrive Kids for the fall semester! We will once again complete a 1-minute running challenge and finish out with some FUN!
L- look around to help, protect, and inspire
E- expect the best from those around you
A- attitude matters!
D- demand excellence from yourself!
E- energy lifters!
