Principal's Message
Assalamualaykum,
We are almost at the end of 2020, and I pray that 2021 brings an end to our trial with the pandemic and a steady return to normalcy.
This school year, teachers have gone above and beyond to engage both in-person, and remote learners. With these new platforms and expectations, teachers have quickly adapted to every obstacle to keep learning moving forward and providing as solid an education as possible to all of our students.
At this time, we cannot stress enough the importance of student mental health checks, especially those learning from home. With our online platform, we are less able to make eye contact and read facial expressions- our way to gauge how our students are feeling. And as we know, positive interactions and relationships are a precursor to learning and impacts student motivation.
Teachers worry that even if our students see the content and hear the teacher’s voice, with the diminished human connection, students’ attention can drift away. But It is imperative that students are engaged with school work as course content is progressing. Parents, please be sure to check your child’s progress on Schoology regularly and keep up the communication with teachers.
If there was ever a time when young folks would need high levels of support- it is now! With your partnership, we hope to reach all of our students, those learning from home and those coming in person in their all- around well- being.
Thank you so much for your diligence in keeping your children home when they are sick and promptly reporting exposures to school. Your efforts have helped in creating a safe place for learning in the school building.
We urge you all to please practice universal safety precautions during this Winter break, so that we can all come back into the building on Monday, January 4th.
On behalf of the board, administrative team, and the entire staffulty, we wish you all a safe and peaceful Winter break. Please know how appreciative of you we are for your support. We are so fortunate to be able to serve your children. We love them so!
