RES Weekly Buzz
We are already part way through November! Where does the time go? The weather is changing significantly from day to day; please make sure your child has outerwear that is appropriate. Our students are enjoying both the warm fall temperatures and the crisp days for outdoor recess. Recess games and activities help foster friendships through kindness and inclusion. Thank you to our new playground monitors who have been a wonderful addition to our school community and provide guidance and support to our students each day.
Thank you to Mr. Twombly and Mrs. Araneo from First R Readers who read to our kindergarten and first grade students this week! The kindergarten book was Ricky, the Rock That Couldn't Roll, by Mr. Jay, and our first graders listened to The Leaf Thief, by Alice Hemming. The First R Readers gave a classroom copy of each book to the classroom libraries as well. RES is very fortunate to have First R Readers and Endicott students visiting and reading to our classes throughout this school year.
Following this week's Orchestra Summit, we had another amazing musical performance by all of our very talented RPS orchestra students. Thank you to Abigale Reisman, Charles Clements, Chris Baum, and Josue Gonzales for working with our elementary orchestra students; and a HUGE THANK YOU to Nathan Cohen for his enthusiasm, energy, and dedication to the music program and students of Rockport Public Schools. Thank you to Aeolus String Quartet for their mentorship and their amazing performance. It was awesome to see our elementary students on stage and to have ALL 4th through 12th grade orchestra students perform Vivaldi's Concerto in D together. We can't wait to see how you grow as musicians.
Reminder, NO SCHOOL on Friday, November 11th.
Thank you to all of the veterans in our community for their service and sacrifice; we honor you today.
Have a wonderful weekend,
Amy & Jodi

SCHOOL MENUS
PTO
The sign up is ready for the PTO Holiday Fair on November 19th. If you have a High Schooler, this is a great opportunity for community service hours. We especially need youthful help setting up the tables on the 19th, right after school, and taking the tables down when the fair is over at 2:30 on the 19th.
As well as the usual help we need setting up the day before the fair and all the great help you give during the fair, we are looking for someone to spearhead the creation of the gingerbread houses. We can provide all the details on this task if you are interested. If we can't find anyone, then I'm afraid this will be missing from the fair this year. Thanks!
