I hope that you all had a wonderful holiday season and winter break. Our December was a whirlwind here at the Pre-K Center, full of fun activities, winter concerts, spirit week outfits, and parties! Thank you to all that came out to see your kiddos sing. I know it meant a lot to them to see you here.

And what did you feed these children over the break? They all seem like they have grown several inches! I have been the happy recipient of many hugs and smiles this week. I have missed your babies more than you know! It has been wonderful to have a building full of little voices again!

Now that the break is over, we are ready to get back to the business of learning. It is my favorite time of year, when our PK kids really seem to come into their own. I can't wait to see what the second semester has in store for us!

This morning, Johnson PK awarded Serenity, one of our students who had great attendance during the second quarter, with a brand new LED scooter! Names of students with better than 90% attendance were entered into the drawing. We will do another drawing in April! Will your child's name be on the big wheel? We hope so!

Student attendance is one of the largest factors in student academic success. Students that come to school every day do better in school. Here at Johnson Pre-K we recognize classes daily who have perfect attendance. Mrs. Huggins personally comes to the class to celebrate perfect attendance days, and those classes are also recognized at our weekly Rise-N-Shine program on Friday mornings. Classes track those Perfect Attendance Days, and they receive a prize for every 10 perfect attendance days achieved. Additionally, names of students with good attendance are put into a drawing every quarter to receive a fancy new scooter! Unless your child is truly sick (fever, vomiting, or diarrhea) please send them to school every day! How is your child's class doing? See below...

Mrs. Ellis 20 -- Mrs. Ellis's students have earned an extra recess reward, and also a special pencil and a storytime with Mrs. Huggins for hitting their 20th Perfect Attendance Day!

Ms. McKellar 14 -- Ms. McKellar's students have earned the extra recess reward for 10 Perfect Attendance Days!

Mrs. Bobbitt 10 -- Mrs. Bobbit's students have earned the extra recess reward for 10 Perfect Attendance Days!

Ms. Maguire 10 --Ms. Maguire's students have earned the extra recess reward for 10 Perfect Attendance Days!

Ms. Manning 10 -- Ms. Manning's students have earned the extra recess reward for 10 Perfect Attendance Days!

Mrs. Ketch 9 - Mrs. Ketch's students only need one more Perfect Attendance Day to earn their extra recess!

As part of OKC Public Schools, we follow the elementary uniform policy. Students will need to wear uniforms daily.

Uniform Policy
• White, Red, Grey, & Navy Collared Shirts/Tops
• School Shirts
• Navy Blue, Khaki, & Black Pants/Bottoms

Closed-toe shoes - we have recess daily (weather permitting) and PE several times per week. Please help us keep everyone safe.

All bottoms must be at least fingertip length. Please have students wear shorts under dresses and rompers.
