RHJ Weekly Update
February 2 Update
Welcome to February. On Monday, January 29th at our regular school council meeting we discussed proposed fees for the 2024-25 school year. All families are invited to attend to share their feedback via this form.
As we finish Semester 1, families should check in on PowerSchool to have a close look at their students' progress so far. Students are reminded that they have the opportunity to demonstrate new learning and achievement throughout the school year. There are opportunities for students to work with their teacher should they wish to improve their grades.
Please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions, comments, or concerns via email at gregory.cruickshank@eips.ca
Sincerely,
Greg, Glenda, and the RHJ Team

Honours 2024-25
RHJ is pleased to announce a Grade 8 and a Grade 9 Honours class next year! Congratulations to all the students who were accepted.
Purdy's
After a very successful Christmas fundraising campaign, RHJ Theatre has decided to run a Purdy's Easter Chocolate Campaign as well. This fundraiser will help us raise funds for our Performance Arts 9 students, who are hoping to take a one act play to the EIPS Junior High One Act Festival, in May. If you would like to contribute to our campaign, please click on the link below to order. Thank you so much for supporting RHJ Theater! If you have any questions, please contact Savannah Essington at savannah.essington@eips.ca.
Black History Month
Every February, people across Canada participate in Black History Month events and festivities that honour the legacy of Black people in Canada and their communities. The theme for Black History Month 2024 is Black Excellence: A Heritage to Celebrate; a Future to Build. RHJ is partnering with the Multicultural Society to offer presentations and workshops to our students and staff. We will be learning about Alberta Black History and the contributions African ancestors played toward the development of Canada.

Returning Student Registration: 2024-25
Mark your calendars! Returning student registration for the 2024-25 school year will take place Feb. 8-21, 2024.
Families of all current students—with the exception of graduating Grade 12 students—must complete the process to confirm the school their child plans to attend in the 2024-25 school year or advise the Division of their plans not to return to EIPS. Additionally, students who want to attend a non-designated school need to make that request through the returning student registration process—acceptance is based on available space. Watch for more details in the new year.
Next Step Fort Saskatchewan
Curious about alternative programming for high school? Next Step offers flexible learning for students who may not find themselves succeeding in a regular program. For more information, you can visit their website and/or attend their open house on February 13.

Rudolph Hennig has joined with LunchBox to offer lunches for our students! Parents can order and pay online through the link below, and students pick up the lunches in the Raven's Nest Store in the first half of lunch.
